“Penelope” resides in Leopold (Geelong), giving you easy access from Avalon International Airport and railways to pick her up and start your adventure along the Great Ocean Road. Follow the winding bitumen as it cuts along the beachside cliff tops and through the lush bush land to discover some of the world’s most iconic destinations including Bells Beach, The Otways and the 12 Apostles. But make sure you take the time to drive off the well known path to discover hidden gems, tree top walks, bush trails that will have you chasing waterfalls, and a food lovers dream with artisan bakeries & organic farms, chocolatiers and ice creameries. Pull up at one of the many campgrounds grab a refreshing beer or wine from the fridge, fix a meal in the modern kitchenette, recline under the awning and play card games or read your favourite book. Take some time to wander around the towns, discovering boutique shops and day spas, markets, galleries and museums. And of course, don’t forget the beaches! With some of the best surf breaks at your doorstep including Winkipop and the Bells Beach, or find a more secluded spots for a sunset stroll, there’s sure to be something to satisfy. Whatever your heart desires, let “Penelope” be your guide to an unforgettable experience. Some tip's for you on how to get maximum love from “Penelope”: Our van is your van and we would expect that you would look after your most precious items as we do- * NO smoking of any substance * NO drinking or drug driving * Pets - Strictly on request only with allowance for Assistance companions * All dishes, glasses, pots and pans and BBQ must be cleaned and stored correctly. Please empty all bins and take all of your rubbish with you. Failure will incur a $75.00 cleaning fee, * Return with a FULL tank of UNLEADED PETROL OR $50.00 fee + fuel cost will apply “Penelope” is not an off road vehicle and you are not covered by insurance on unsealed roads so please stay on the bitumen. “Penelope” is available for commercial bookings with strict guidelines and fees.   The Penelope was a great RV experience for our 3 days of travels along the Great Ocean Road as a couple with our little dog. For a retro vintage van, she was perfect for slow travelling but does require some skilled manual shifting to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride along some sketchy roads. Stay wise, the double bed was surprisingly really comfortable and the kitchen/awnings facilities were easy to use and set up for meal time. The owner was really friendly and communication was swift and everything well explained and we felt reassured at all times if there was any questions on the trip. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique van to hire that brings smiles and headturns wherever she goes!

  What a fantastic mid week getaway. Penelope was the perfect companion and I cant wait to hire her again. Laura and Jeremy are both wonderful caring and diligent owners/keepers of the keys. Dont think about it, just go for it! Hire Penelope, you wont regret it!

  We had an amazing time in Penelope, she was pure magic to drive and the van had everything we needed for our 4 days in Wye River. Jeremy and Laura were wonderful hosts and went to a lot of effort to make our holiday so enjoyable. We would definitely take another road trip down the coast with Penelope again! Jen

  From the moment I booked Penelope the Kombi, my experience with Jeremy, Laura, and the van itself was absolutely exceptional! Jeremy and Laura responded to my booking enquiry within two hours and maintained friendly, helpful communication throughout the process. The detailed information they provided answered all my questionseven the ones I hadnt thought to ask yet. They were incredibly flexible with pick-up and drop-off times, and they kindly allowed me to leave my own car at their home while I went on my trip. Penelope the Kombi exceeded all my expectations. She was immaculately clean, both inside and out, and came thoughtfully equipped with everything I could needfrom bottle openers in the utensils drawer to a two-burner camping stove. The pièce de résistance was the incredibly comfy bed with a real mattress and beautiful, soft linen. Every detail was perfect. On my first night, as I lay down, I couldnt help but think, Hiring Penelope was the best decision Ive made all year (and it was the 29th of December!). Driving Penelope took a little getting used to, but as a confident manual car driver, it was no problem. While shes a bit slower than other vehicles on the road, I never once got honked at. Other drivers seemed just as charmed by her as I was, happily giving me space, with many slowing down to take photos as they passed.
