Meet Vinnie – our much-loved, no-frills adventure van. Vinnie has been part of our family for years and even accompanied us on a big lap around Australia back when travel was tough. He’s reliable, cosy, and full of character — and now he’s ready to take you on your own adventure. Before you book, here’s what to expect: Vinnie is a classic. He’s 30 years old, an automatic, and runs on unleaded. This isn’t a luxury “glamping” setup — Vinnie is a simple, honest, well-equipped old-school camper. If you enjoy real camping with all the essentials (but none of the fancy extras), you’ll love him. Where you can take him: Vinnie is on-road only. No off-road tracks and no sand driving. What’s inside: Even though he’s older, Vinnie is set up with everything you need for a comfortable camping escape: 12/240V Engel fridge that gets properly cold Long-wheelbase layout with pop-top (brand new canvas installed) for extra room Plenty of storage throughout the van Stereo in the cabin for your roadtrip tunes TV with a small selection of movies for rainy evenings Fully equipped kitchen with sink, 12V water pump and a large under-body water tank Butane stove (1 can per hire day included) Dining area that easily converts to a bed 120Ah lithium battery powering fridge, TV, radio, lights and device chargers for approx. 2 nights off-grid Recharges with 2–3 hours of driving 200W solar blanket 240V mains hookup Pots, pans, cutlery, camp table & chairs Vinnie is not a luxury camper — he’s a much-loved, practical, functional home on wheels with plenty of charm. Hire Fee: From $110.00 per day
Service fee: $120.00

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Holiday was fantastic in Vinnie - practical, simple to drive and set up, great size. Paul gave through intro and sent through videos which were very helpful and useful during the trip also. Had basic linens and kit to make do for a short getaway! Had a fantastic trip and definitely recommend !!

This was my first time in a camper van! Vinnie was as-advertised, a trusty ol' home on wheels. I found it fairly easy to drive on the roundtrip between St Kilda and Bacchus Marsh area. Sadly our camping trip to Mornington was cancelled due to covid, so for our 10 days together the van was really just a place to sleep whilst visiting family in the country. As a bed, Vinnie is quite comfortable! A firm mattress and plenty of room. The van's battery lasts for a good long while (min a couple of days), even with the fridge running. The interior has some nice lighting and there are USB outlets to charge your phone. Also a stove with plenty of extra fuel canisters and a sink for cleaning dishes. Bed packs away to make room for a dining table. The awning off the side of the van is huge and will provide lots of shade! Didn't need to use it, but Paul showed me how to connect the solar blanket which would have easily powered the van. Vinnie is quite tidy and organized, but has seen some real adventures and it shows. I drove through a downpour on the highway and there was a very small leak from the rooftop canvas; wasn't big issue and Paul said he'll be getting it fixed. The van is completely functional and obviously well maintained mechanically. Feels very safe! I would definitely recommend hiring Vinnie for your camping adventures!!
