Darling The Van

Meet Darling — a true desert wanderer with the ability to take you to some of Australia’s most scenic locations in style and comfort. Lovingly converted into a campervan in 2021, Darling has been our personal hotel on wheels for four years now, and has taken us to Darwin, Esperance, Karijini, Uluṟu, and Exmouth, to name a (very) few. We’re now ready to share her with the world, so she can take you to old favourites or on new adventures. Darling is a manual vehicle, so a valid manual drivers license will be required to hire her. She runs on diesel, so she’ll take you further on a single tank of fuel. Darling was designed with a thoughtfully crafted layout that ensures both style and functionality. Fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable trip, including: • A full size double bed with not one but two mattress toppers • Fully insulated walls lined with white washed pine • Ample storage in the bedside and overhead cabinets • Both linen curtains providing soft light and block out window panels for privacy • 4 x 20L freshwater tanks and 1 x 20L tank for sink waste • Portable solar panel • In house deep cycle battery • Integrated electrical system with LED dimmable lighting, 4 x USB-A ports and 2 x 12V power sockets • Tap with electric water pump • A reversible ceiling fan/vent • 65L Brass Monkey fridge with freezer zone • Plates, cutlery, mugs, knives, wine glasses, pots, and chopping board • Pull out camp kitchen with double burner butane stove • Pull out dual bin drawer • A rear pull out drawer with all the gear you’ll need • Darch awning with zip-on bug netting • Two camp chairs and a trestle table with tablecloth • Annexe outdoor mat • Touchscreen media head unit with Apple CarPlay and reversing camera Bed linen is available for hire at an extra cost of $25. Please note if you are bringing your dog, you will have to bring your own bedding. As fun as it would be to take Darling into some of Australia’s beautiful 4WD drive accessible locations, unfortunately she’s not able to make the trip in. Darling is strictly limited to 2WD tracks only, as she is heavy and doesn’t have high ground clearance that will get her down rocky or soft tracks.
