Ask about our late evening delivery and handover the night prior to hire start. You can pack and prepare, but cannot drive prior to 12.01 am on the first day of hire. We cannot always do this, but will if we can make it work. But during the 2024 winter her older sister called OzFunWagon, covered 17,000km in winter alone, taking multiple travelling parties to WA's glorious northern parts. Places like Exmouth, Ningaloo, Cape Range, Kalbarri, Karijini, were all popular. It's really no surprise either, the Northern parts of WA are a winter wonderland, 26 degC is a typical day time temperature, rain is rare, the sun sits higher in the sky, there are more daylight hours, and the light is like nowhere else +++ OuttaTownWagon is the newest addition to our small off-grid station wagon camper fleet, and has a very similar setup to that of our first ever backpacker priced wagon called OzFunWagon. Having said that, it’s benefitted from slightly better camping and electrical product availability that has come onto the market in just the last 10months, so it could be argued that OuttaTownWagon is just a tiny bit better than OzFunWagon. Of course, being newer to Camplify, OuttaTownWagon doesn't yet have as many glowing 5 star reviews as it's predecessors do. But we suspect in time it will. Travel Australia's wide open roads in relaxed comfort with this all Australian station wagon (or - “estate” for the poms). Built strong in Australia, to suit local roads and conditions. This one was Camplified with new components in late 2024/early 2025. Fully serviced and workshopped for reliability and safety. Including numerous "in the know" reliability enhancements that further fortify this long proven model. Ute rear springs/shocks are fitted to handle the weight of camping gear. Too many new parts and consumables to mention. It's dusty in the photos because we'd been touring around north of Be it Exmouth, Cape Range (sealed portions) Ningaloo, Karijini (sealed portions, but it’s largely sealed now) Coral Bay, Monkey Mia, Esperance, Cape Le Grande, Broome, Goldfields, Margaret River, Albany a bit of a jaunt up the coast, or even over east. No problems, this will get it done. OuttaTownWagon has these features, and so-so much more --1.35m wide slimline Kings GT lite (new to the market from Kings) rooftop tent sleeps 2. --2.5m x 3m Passenger side awning. --Kings “big daddy” 2 person swag included if booked for 3 or 4. --160W semi flexible solar panel mounted directly to RTT --Batblock 25 second battery management system loaded with 100Ahr Lithium deep cycle battery. --1070mm twin draw system loaded with all the gear you need to cook and camp. --2 gas stoves, instant on butane plus twin burner Propane. --Solar shower --Chairs, table, ladder to RTT, LED lights, sinks, pots pans cutlery, slide out pantry 45 litre slide out fridge. 🚘 Driving - Super easy to drive automatic, no special licence required just a regular car licence. Ice cold in-car AC for warmer months, toasty heater for winter. Power steering, cruise control, full dynamic stability control including anti lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags. All factory fitted. All working. Airbags are NOT Takata, so are safe and not subject to recall. Please note on Distance, OuttaTownWagon has 160km per booking day included with extra km at $0.40 each. So, say you book it for 10 days, and drive 1600km there is no extra km charge. But if you drive 1700km the fee would be $40. It does not matter on which day(s) you drive the kilometres, just the total. 🦺🛟 Safety - fire extinguisher and blanket, first aid kit, user and instruction manuals for vehicle and added camping components. Airtagged. 👯👯 Travellers - Its a 5-seater, but with five on board it gets a bit cosy, so we set the maximum at 4. Please note if more than 2 travel, you will need to have a modest amount of luggage. 🛌🛌🛏️🛏️ Sleeping - The slimline 1.35m wide rooftop tent sets up in 30 seconds and sleeps two, plus a 2 person queen sized tent swag goes with it if booked for more than two travellers. Maximum sleeping spots = four. The amount of equipment in the cargo area means there is no sleeping room inside the wagon itself. Linen provided WHEN LINEN OPTION TICKED on booking (up to 2 fitted sheets, 2 doona, 4 pillows, 4 towels). If the linen option isn't ticked, it just comes with mattress protector(s). ⚡🔌💡🔋' Electrical - 160W fixed "slim semi flexible" solar paired via Kings' new BatBlock25 battery management system to a 120Ah deep cycle 2nd battery. This means the fridge can run 24/7 if the OuttaTownWagon spends a decent portion of the day in the sun or driving, and the 5 LED light bars can run evenings. The electrical pretty much looks after itself. Of course when driving, the starter battery AND the 2nd battery are both charged by the engine's alternator AND the solar (solar prioritised). Ample power as well for phone and laptop chargers with multiple 12V cig and 5V USB outlets throughout. It has a 1000W pure sine wave 240V AC inverter to plug in those 240V laptop and drone chargers, if that's your thing. Tucked away is also an emergency lithium jump starter (that can also be used as a mobile phone charger or even a torch) and a 240V AC supply battery charger, but those shouldn't be needed. 🧳💼🧳 Luggage - with two travellers, the back seat is best for your bags. If booked for 3 or 4, baggage space inside is limited, so we'll pre-fit the rooftop basket. When booked for 2, we'll remove the rooftop basket, to save fuel via reduced weight and reduced air resistance. 🍌🍅🥩🥚🥛 Food and drink storage - Slide-out 45litre fridge/ freezer for perishables and drinks, plus plenty of room in the slide-out pantry for those not-so perishables. 🍳🍳 Cooking - twin burner LPG gas stove, plus single burner instant-on butane canister fuelled type for that quick cuppa. Pots, pans, saucepans, camp toaster etc, and cooking utensils all found in the drawers. 🍴🍷🍽️ Enough plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery for four people. Two collapsible sinks (wash and rinse), sponges, wash cloths, tea towels etc for when its time to do the dishes. No room for a dishwasher sorry. 🫖☕🍵 Tea and coffee Tea bags, freeze dried Mocconna coffee, raw sugar sticks, milo, and a few 200ml long life milks provided with each hire. 🪑🪑🪑🪑 Furniture - upto 4 chairs, 1 Alum fold-up table, 2m x 2.5m one minute awning, one 3m x 3m ground sheet.1 step, 1 ladder to RTT. 💧🚰 Water- A 10 Litre drinking water container stores in the fridge (fridge works best with items in it rather than empty or near empty). Plus an extra 10litre container can be provided. ⛽⛽ Fuel. OuttaTownWagon runs on unleaded petrol. The air resistance from roof top tent does reduce range compared to a naked wagon, but it can still achieve over 600km from it's 70 litre tank at 95-100km/hr, we've gone over 600km/tank numerous times. Of course, it will use more fuel if pushing into a head wind. If you push it at 120km/hr into a head wind with the rooftop basket loaded with luggage it will use a LOT of fuel. If you want extra range, just ask, and we'll include an extra 20L fuel container. *The wagon will be FULL of fuel on collection, and will have been filled up within 2km of pickup point. On return, please completely fill it at one of the stations within 2km of our house. Logistics. We live in Melville suburb, approx. midway between Perth and Fremantle for pickup, but we're flexible, if you need it delivered, we'll do our best to make it happen. For travellers flying into Perth, we can deliver it to Bull Creek train station at no extra charge. You can get from Perth Airport to Bull Creek train station on a $5.20 train fare in about 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour. We can also deliver it to Perth Airport but that takes one of us about 2.5 hours to do, so please tick the airport delivery option for that. We are all about providing travellers with solutions, not problems. Please note the prehire checklist takes some room to demonstrate awning etc so it cannot really be done in the CBD etc.
