[Watch] Luxury camping at Seal Rocks: Get caravan comfort delivered to your beachfront site

Kieran's Camping Adventures

"Zero setup stress. Zero towing anxiety. Just the best parts of caravanning, delivered."

Three hours north of Sydney at Reflections Seal Rocks - one of NSW's most idyllic beach campgrounds - we put this promise to the test. We'd driven straight from home with nothing but our bags and groceries. Upon arrival, our caravan was already waiting at an oceanfront campsite - awning out, fridge humming, chairs perfectly positioned.

Cue three days of waking to wave sounds, cooking with Pacific views, and sleeping in actual comfort. No towing. No setup. Just waves, campfires, and a proper bed to sink into each night.

This is caravan delivery -  it's changing how thousands of Australians camp.

[Watch] We camped at Seal Rocks in a luxury caravan - without having tow it a single meter. Here's what happened.

TL;DR: The essential info on the ultimate NSW caravan delivery holiday

Your basecamp: Seal Rocks, Myall Lakes National Park—3 hours north of Sydney, oceanfront campsites with surf breaks at your door

How it works: A luxury caravan gets delivered and set up at your campsite by a local owner. You just show up.

Perfect for: Couples or families seeking ocean-view camping with hotel-level comfort - no towing skills, no deflating air mattresses, no 6am back pain

How to book: Filter by 'deliver' on Camplify and search Seal Rocks (or any campground). Your caravan arrives ready to enjoy

Seal Rocks Caravan hire: From $130/night from Dirt Gear Caravan Hire.

Seal Rocks: luxury beach camping near Sydney

Seal Rocks: one of NSW best beachside campgrounds near Sydney.

Beach camping in NSW sounds perfect in theory - until you're wrestling tent poles in the wind, waking up with sand in your sleeping bag, and wondering why you didn't just book a hotel.

But what if you could have the campfire mornings, the sound of waves as your alarm clock, and that unbeatable feeling of waking up 50 metres from the beach - without sacrificing a proper bed, a hot shower, or your sanity?

That's exactly what we found camping at Seal Rocks. And we didn't need to own a caravan, learn to reverse a trailer, or spend Saturday morning watching YouTube videos about caravan setup.

Here's how caravan delivery changed everything - and how you can do it too.

Skip the towing. Skip the setup. Just show up.

Camping meets hotel-level comfort with caravan hire on the NSW Mid-North Coast.

Here's what makes delivery brilliant: you get the full caravan experience without needing to own one, borrow a tow vehicle, or carve out time to learn the ropes.

You pick your dream campsite—say, an oceanfront spot at Reflections Holiday Park, Seal Rocks - and your caravan arrives ready to enjoy. Awning out, chairs positioned, fridge running. If you've added linen, the beds are already made.

Inside, you'll find a queen bed with an actual comfortable mattress, full kitchen with induction cooktop and fridge/freezer, hot shower, and air conditioning that runs off solar. It's hotel comfort—just parked at a campground instead of a car park.

Your local owner (in our case, Chris from Taree) tows it there, sets everything up, and walks you through how it all works. When your trip ends, he comes back and handles the pack-up.

You just show up with your bags, unlock the door, and start your holiday.

Over 8,400 delivery bookings happened on Camplify in 2024 alone. This isn't experimental, it's how thousands of Australians are camping now. Every booking is protected by Camplify's secure payment platform, so you're covered from booking to key handover.

What you're actually getting

[Watch] Join us for a full walkthrough of what you actually get when you book caravan with Dirt Gear Australia

Chris's fleet covers everything from couples getaways to family adventures

Queen beds with real mattresses (not fold-outs that kill your back), full kitchens with induction cooking, hot showers, and air conditioning that runs off solar - so even on humid coastal nights, you're sleeping well.

Whether you're in a 2-berth option like the Cali Couples Van or a family setup like his Harvok vans "Lachie" and "Trail Spark" (sleeping five with triple bunks), the comfort level is the same: hotel standard, camping location. Chris handles all the setup—awning out, camp chairs positioned, BBQ ready. You just show up and start your holiday.

Why Seal Rocks is perfect for your first delivery holiday

Seal Rocks sits quietly in Myall Lakes National Park, about 60 minutes south of Forster. No flashy resorts, no crowds—just clean surf, golden sand, and campsites that put you 50 metres from the Pacific.

We stayed at the locally managed Reflections Holiday Park, and it's genuinely hard to imagine a better setup for a delivery booking. The park staff know Chris by name - he's there every week dropping off vans - so the whole process runs smoothly. We booked sites 38 and 39, the premium oceanfront spots where you can hear waves breaking from your camp chair. But honestly, you can't go wrong anywhere in the park.

A sheltered bay & rolling surf break straight out the front of the campsite makes Seal Rocks the ultimate campground for beach lovers

The area punches well above its weight for things to do. Just around the corner, Treachery Beach is an idyllic northerly lee—sheet-glass in summer's northeast winds. When the wind swings south, Seal Rocks itself offers a super fun point break that's forgiving for beginners. It's one of NSW's most diverse coastal stretches for surf.

Not a surfer? The snorkelling here is brilliant - stingrays gliding over sandy bottoms, schools of fish around the rocks, and enough wildlife to keep kids entertained for hours. The rockpools at low tide are their own little world.

And if you need a bigger town fix, Forster is 30 minutes north for proper shops and restaurants.

Booking your site: Reflections books out fast, especially over summer and long weekends. Secure your dates at https://reflectionsholidays.com.au/parks/seal-rocks/ first, then arrange your caravan delivery through Camplify. Chris and the team have the timing dialed - your van will be set up and waiting when you arrive.

Meet the guy behind your caravan: Chris from Taree

Chris is the proud, local owner of Dirt Gear Caravan Hire - a business he started with a single van. "I loved camping and caravanning, but like everyone else, wasn't getting away enough," he says. "I figured, why not let other people experience how good it is too?"

Turns out, a lot of people wanted exactly that. One van became two, then six, then twenty-two. "I couldn't say no," he laughs. "You'd have families ringing going 'we can't find a van, we've got our Christmas booking, we really need something' - and I'd just go find a way to make it happen."

These days his fleet ranges from budget-friendly park vans to serious off-road rigs. Most of Chris's bookings are families - his Harvok vans like "Lachie" and "Trail Spark" sleep five with queen beds and triple bunks, giving kids their own space while parents get a proper bedroom. Every caravan is five years old or newer, maintained by a full-time mechanic, and prepped based on lessons from Chris's own trips - which lean toward the adventurous end of the spectrum. With a 4.9-star rating across 257 Camplify reviews, Chris is one of the platform's most trusted owners.

"We've taken vans to Fraser Island, buried them up to the chassis rails in sand. We've done Birdsville, the Simpson Desert, all the big remote laps," he says. "So we know what actually breaks and what holds up. When someone books a van for somewhere like Seal Rocks - which is a very accessible spot - they're getting equipment that's been tested way beyond what they'll need."

For delivery bookings, the process is straightforward. "We want to turn up about 30 minutes before the customer arrives," Chris explains. "Get the van set up, awning out, fridge running, air-con on if it's a hot day - so when they get there, we just walk them through how everything works and then get out of their way."

The Reflections staff at Seal Rocks know him by name—he's there most weeks dropping off or picking up vans. The coordination is seamless because everyone's done it dozens of times before. And if Seal Rocks doesn't work for your dates, Chris delivers to dozens of other Mid North Coast campgrounds - national parks, beachside spots, lakeside retreats.

When your trip ends, Chris or one of his team comes back, handles the pack-up, and that's it. You're heading home with nothing but good memories and a phone full of beach photos.

Chris's fleet is one option on Camplify. The platform also has dozens of owners across Australia offering caravan delivery to hundreds of campgrounds nationwide. Filter by 'deliver' when you search, and you'll see what's available for your destination.

How to nail your delivery holiday

Getting delivery right comes down to a few simple things Chris has learned from hundreds of bookings.

Book your campsite first, then your van. This is the most common mistake. Campgrounds like Reflections fill up fast, especially over summer and long weekends. Lock in your dates and site number, then arrange your caravan. Chris can't deliver to a site you haven't secured.

Don't overpack. Chris's vans come fully equipped - utensils, cookware, pots, pans, even basic pantry staples. Bring your food, clothes, toiletries, and sense of adventure. Everything else is sorted.

Communicate your arrival time. Let Chris know when you'll arrive so he can time the setup perfectly. He aims to be there 30 minutes early with everything ready—awning out, fridge cold, chairs positioned—so the walkthrough is quick and you're on holiday faster.

Ask questions during the walkthrough. Chris has done this hundreds of times. You probably haven't. If something isn't clear - induction cooktop, water gauge, air-con settings—ask. It's way easier to clarify on day one than figure it out at 9pm when you're trying to cook dinner.

Check your damage protection before you go. Every Camplify booking includes damage protection options and secure payment processing. If something breaks on the van, you're covered. Chris handles maintenance, and Camplify's support handles everything else.

Caravan delivery works at almost every campground across NSW - and the rest of Australia. If Seal Rocks doesn't line up with your dates or you're based elsewhere, here are a few other spots where the delivery experience works beautifully:

Munmorah State Conservation Area, Central Coast — 90 minutes north of Sydney, beachfront camping with Lake Munmorah on one side and the Pacific on the other. Perfect for families who want coastal camping without the long drive.

Depot Beach, Murramarang National Park — South Coast magic. Wake up to kangaroos grazing outside your van and dolphins cruising past while you're having breakfast. Proper off-grid camping with all the comforts.

Lane Cove River Tourist Park — Yes, really. Twenty minutes from Sydney CBD, tucked into bushland along the river. Ideal if you want to test the delivery experience close to home before committing to a longer trip.

Reflections Holiday Parks, Terrace Reserve (North Haven) — Just up the coast from Seal Rocks, another stunner with beachfront sites and the same easy delivery coordination that makes Reflections locations so popular.

Each of these campgrounds has owners on Camplify who deliver regularly. Filter by location and 'delivery' when you search, and you'll see what's available.
