How our Clan began Caravan and Camping Despite Dad and Mum having a brood of 5 children under the age of 7 years old, it did not stop them blessing their family by taking the clan on many holidays. Being a teacher, holidays were plentiful but money wasn't, but that didn't deter Ivor. In 1964 he set about, designed and built a 18ft bond wood caravan with the help of the school's Design and Tech Teacher (the salt of the Earth) to accommodate the Clan. It was completed in the same year, along with 12ft bond wood dinghy. "Let the Clan Holidays begin" and that they did. It was the beginning of fun and adventure for the whole Clan. Rarely did school holidays occur without an adventure somewhere. In 1968 Dad took Long Service Leave and he and Mum undertook to take the family on and epic adventure to show the family Australia. They packed up the caravan, took all the kids out of school for a term and headed east across the Nullabour. (All gravel then) We travelled all the way up the East Coast to North Queensland and back down again and even a lap around Tasmania. In the same way that Mum & Dad didn’t have heaps of money to stay in hotels and motels, our aim is to provide a budget friendly option for you to explore and discover this great country.   We had a fantastic trip with no stress or pressure due to Glenns handover and having absolutely all we needed. Katie-T is an older van but runs beautifully and super simple to drive. If it had nothing else it has the bed from Heaven which makes it a dream, especially when camping out - however Glenn has supplied all the essentials for an epic camping journey, fully equipped camp kitchen set up, plenty of storage, little fridge and plenty of storage spaces for all sorts. Head torches and little led light to magnetise on, If u like plenty of light u could bring an extra one but for full camping experience it has absolutely everything you could need. Extra chargers which are always something we forget. Glenn was really exceptional to connect with and we felt at ease the entire time. We will definitely be rehiring again if Kate-T is available.

  Fantastic van

  Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Van, ließ sich sehr gut fahren, durch Solar und Batterie brauchten wir keinen Strom auf den Campingplätzen. Kühlschrank war ausreichend groß und hat gut gekühlt. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Die Markise haben wir nicht ausprobiert, da wir sehr schöne Plätze mit Schatten hatten. Die Übergabe und auch die Rückgabe mit Glenn war völlig unkomplziert. Wir bedanken uns sehr und würden wieder bei ihm mieten.

  Glenn was very detail and informative. The van was in great conditions and everything worked amazingly. There is storage, the cooking section with drawers for cutlery, pots and pans, even a pantry section (very handy). Would definitely recommend for a van trip around the south west coast.

  The van is absolutely brilliant and has everything you need. We were very comfortable and would love to rebook in the future. Glenn is also great and was very helpful throughout the process.
