Travelling with Valda is easy, comfortable and relaxed. Based in Hobart Tasmania, she is ideal for one or two people who want the freedom of a campervan without the hassle of a large motorhome. Valda is automatic, easy to drive with great pick up. She has an Apple Airplay system, a reverse camera and excellent air-conditioning. When ready to camp she is simple to set up, and perfect for travellers who like a little bit of comfort while still enjoying the outdoors. Inside, there is a cosy dining and sleeping area, privacy curtains, internal lighting, fridge space and plenty of thoughtful storage. There is a roof mounted remote controlled air vent which can let air in/out. Outside, Valda really comes into her own, with an awning, camp chairs, outdoor tables, a two-burner stove and everything you need to cook a meal and enjoy Tasmania’s beautiful scenery. She is a great choice for couples or solo travellers who want to explore at their own pace, stop somewhere peaceful, make a cup of tea, cook outside, and enjoy the simple pleasure of travelling comfortably in the great outdoors.

Valda is supplied with a full tank of diesel and must be returned full. Please note that she takes diesel fuel only. The camper is designed for on-road travel only and should not be taken onto beaches, 4WD tracks, rough bush tracks, heavily corrugated roads or other unsuitable surfaces. Cooking is to be done outside the van only. A two-burner butane stove, outdoor tables, chairs, pantry box and cooking equipment are provided. Butane canisters should be removed from the stove when not in use and packed away safely. The sink has a 10 L fresh water tank and a 10 L grey water tank, so water use needs to be kept light and practical. Grey water should be emptied responsibly at an appropriate facility. There is an additional 15 L water cooler for outdoor use. The solar system supports the internal lights, fridge, sink pump, fan, roof vent and USB-A charging points. For powered campsites, Valda also has a 240V mains connection, which can be used for the toaster, electric kettle, power board and Dometic fridge. Please bring USB-A compatible charging cables or adaptors for phones and devices. Bedding, towels, basic cooking gear, outdoor chairs, outdoor tables, awning, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are provided. Before driving away from camp, please make sure the awning is fully packed away, all loose items are secured, the Dometic fridge is secured, the gas stove is cool and packed away, and the 240V mains power is disconnected.

Hiring rules

  • To help keep Valda clean, safe and enjoyable for all guests, please follow these hiring rules:
  • No smoking or vaping inside the van.
  • No cooking inside the van. All cooking must be done outside using the supplied camping stove and outdoor setup.
  • Butane gas canisters must be removed from the stove when not in use and stored safely.
  • The awning must not be used in strong wind or left out unattended.
  • Do not leave food scraps, rubbish or dirty dishes in the van.
  • The van must be returned with a full tank of diesel.
  • Grey water must be emptied responsibly at an appropriate facility.
  • Return all equipment, cookware, linen and camping items to their correct storage locations.
  • Report any damage, breakages, equipment issues or accidents as soon as possible.
  • Valda should be returned in a tidy condition, with personal belongings, food and rubbish removed.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
