There are a few of the more remote or technically difficult 4x4 tracks that we won't let you drive on - just to save you the cost of any repair bills. To save the $300.00 cleaning bill - we supply a wash-down bay so you can clean the camper on your return. If you prefer that we clean it, you won't get your booking fee refunded. Campers are pretty well set up for long trips of remote camping - you only need to supply your food, toiletries and clothes. Our attitude is that if you get bogged or in trouble on your adventures - you should have avoided going there. Treat our campers like they are your own and you'll have an amazing and cheap holiday.

Hiring rules

• Limitations of Vehicle Usage
• 1. The Vehicle is not permitted to travel outside of the area indicated in the indicative route itinerary agreed to in writing with the Owner prior to the commencement of the period of Hire.
• 2. Each vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracker to indicate the location of the vehicle and can be used at the discretion of the owner to indicate the location of the vehicle at any given time during the hire. (This is a safety feature to locate the vehicle if there is an accident or breakdown in a remote location)
• 3. As the vehicle has the capacity to travel on fourwheel drive environments, the hirer must ensure that each Authorised Driver:
• (a) operates the Vehicle in 2WD mode on sealed roads; and
• (b) does not operate the Vehicle in the:
• (i) areas listed under the ‘Prohibited’ areas below; and
• (ii) areas listed as ‘Restricted' areas below, unless owner provides prior written consent
• prior to travel.
• (iii) Any river or creek crossings over 50 cm deep or swift flowing water are to be
• avoided.
• (iv) All creek crossing or steep slopes of over 20% gradient are to be driven in 4x4 in
• 1st gear. The clutch is not to be engaged during any steep accents or descents
• or creek crossings.
• (v) Negligent and dangerous driving at greater than 80km/hr on unsealed roads,
• especially corrugated or heavily potholed roads that causes unnecessary stress
• on the vehicle and unsafe driving state.
• (vi) No night driving outside of 100km radius of Cairns unless previously agreed upon
• by the vehicle owner.
• (vii) The hirer is responsible for washing and cleaning the external and internal of the
• vehicle on its return. High power pressure washes are not to be used, and a wash
• facility is available for the hirer to clean the vehicle on return. On return of the
• vehicle after a hirer, failure to clean the vehicle to the same standards that they
• received the vehicle in will incur a $300.00 cleaning fee.
• 4WD Restricted and Prohibited areas of travel
• Restricted Areas (Permission granted after consideration and discussion with the vehicle owner)
• • The Hirer needs to get written permission from the vehicle owner at pickup.
• • Must nominate your travel plans before collecting the vehicle.
• • Both the owner and the hirer are to confirm with local authorities that the track is passable before travelling.
• The rental company can refuse permission based on current road or weather conditions
• 1) Any islands with access via ferry – including Palm Island, Magnetic Island and the Torres Strait Islands
• 2) Savannah Way from Normanton to Borroloola,
• 3) Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton,
• 4) Cape York Peninsula between 1 June to 30 November (North of Laura/Cooktown)
• 5) Bloomfield track
• 6) Starcke River Track (only in favourable dry season conditions and not in sand dunes or beaches)
• 7) Portlands Roads to Chilli Beach camping Track
• 8) Telegraph Track to the Cape York tip (Northern Bypass Road)
• Prohibited Areas (not to be entered under any circumstances)
• 1) Old Telegraph Track section of the road to Cape York,
• 2) CREB Track,
• 3) Frenchman Track (Eastern or Western Entrance)
• 4) Pascoe River Track
• 5) Any Beaches or sand dunes
• 6) Any seasonally closed roads (Check before departure)
• 7) Cape York between 1 December to 31 April, (Dates dependent on wet season road closures and forecasts)

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.
