Kylie 5.0I had a great time in Frankie!
Chloe 5.0Great van for a weekend trip , had everything we needed , would definitely rent this van again and would recommend to a friend !
Chelsea 4.0I would reccomend only hiring this van for a weekend, no longer. Comfortable bed and everything at a basic level that you need. Unfortunately to note - Was told incorrect information about the secondary battery powering the fridge, that it should last 2 days (with the little fan plugged in and charging your phone). But it in fact didnt last 12 hours without me driving the van without dying. And I was only using it for the fridge and the fan, not charging anything. - Listing mentions includes shower & toilet but it does not. - I had to fill up the coolant and oil multiple times. - Got an auto electrician out to look at the fridge battery. To which I was advised the van must be driven at least 1/2 hours every day, morning and night, to keep the fridge battery on. - The ceiling fan also didnt work, and when the auto electrician mentioned that to the owner, she said it works with the remote- the remote still being at her house, not in the van.

Thanks for your feedback and for taking the van on such a long trip up to Airlie Beach. Regarding the battery, I organised and paid for an auto electrician to attend promptly as I initially believed there may have been a fault. The electrician confirmed the battery had simply drained, which can occur when the fridge and fan are used for extended periods without enough driving time to recharge the secondary battery, particularly in hotter climates like Airlie Beach in summer where the fridge needs to work harder. During the call-out you also asked the auto electrician to look at the ceiling fan, which wasnt the reason for the visit and hadnt been discussed with me beforehand. This unfortunately put me on the spot regarding additional repairs at my expense, however I agreed in good faith to help make the remainder of your trip more comfortable. I also didnt state that the fan worked with the remote; the quick fix performed meant the remote I have would no longer function with it. The van is regularly serviced and mechanically well maintained. For a trip covering the distance to Airlie Beach, its not uncommon to occasionally top up oil or coolant over that many kilometres. In relation to the shower and toilet, I do have portable options available for hirers, however these werent requested for your booking. I have since updated the listing to make this clearer for future guests. I always aim to support guests during their trips and arranged assistance as quickly as possible to help resolve the situation. The van has otherwise completed many successful trips without these issues and is regularly maintained to ensure guests have a smooth experience.
Catherine 5.0Chelsea was super easy to communicate with, handover was quick and easy. Frankie was exactly as described, the air con is exceptional and you won't find a comfier bed in a van. Loved my get away in Frankie, would definitely book again.
Luke 4.8Frankie is a charming, and faithful van that carried us through our adventures along the Far North Coast of New South Wales. The '99 Toyota HiAce is hardy as, and the commuter model makes for even more space. The fitout itself is pretty good, with lots of space to store our bags, prepare meals, and unwind. We did notice that the awning was missing one of its guy ropes, but nothing we couldn't sort out ourselves. We couldn't find the listed water storage container, but again, easy enough for us to resolve on our own. The strong aircon listing is right though-- I wish my car's was that good! Chelsea was awesome to organise the hire with, too. A great, and flexible communicator. Thankyou for helping us forge great new memories, and letting us rent the ride we needed to explore Australia's beautiful east coast.
