Bonny Hills luxury camping: ultimate traveller guide
)
This getaway was so comfortable, even the most refined traveler couldn't say no to it.
If one of Australia’s most deluxe campervans was available to hire on your street, would you take it away for the weekend?
When searching for vehicles in my suburb on Camplify - I didn’t expect to find a 5-Star option a stone's throw from where I lived.

Complete with soft, springy mattresses, reading material, charging ports, coffee makers & a full suite of kitchen appliances - Rusty the Renault from Crescent Head Van Fit Outs has all the comforts of a cosy cabin on wheels.
Plus, being a 2-minute walk from my house (and available for 2-night bookings), I knew my weekend was about to become truly unordinary.

Kurtis the owner presented Rusty in immaculate condition - and had thoughtfully curated every detail of the camping experience. Whether it was the full spice rack for cooking with, a generous supply of tupperware to store left over food, a fully charged speaker & Uno deck for light entertainment or the fresh linen and towels. Everything had been included - we just needed to bring ourselves.
Although packed with endless bells & whistles, Kurtis’ tour of the van showed just how simple, easy and intuitive the vehicle was to use. Even a hopeless camping amateur like myself found it very simple to roll out the awning and make use of the air fryer.
Since filming, Rusty the Renault has moved home and now resides at Crescent Head - and is available drive & delivery bookings to the breathtaking local campgrounds around the area.

Driving 2 hours North to Reflections at Bonny Hills, we enjoyed spectacular, beachside views from our site. This has to be just as close as you’re able to stay to the ocean anywhere in NSW.

The beach is accessed by a 2-minute stroll along a shady boardwalk. And is suitable for swimming, surfing and fishing. Bonny Hills Surfclub hosts an upstairs cafe - and is a refreshing spot to drop past for coffee and a treat after a morning splash in the surf.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, there’s heaps of natural wonders to explore. Just a 5 minute drive from the campsite is Grants Beach - a long and sublime stretch of coast under a towering clifftop. You’ll reach the beach with just a 10 minute bushwalk, but being unpatrolled is best left for experienced ocean-goers.
Or, if you drive an hour inland, you can also visit the serene sights of Waitui Falls - a tranquil waterfall and lagoon oasis that comes to life after rainfall. The road out to Waitui Falls turns to gravel after a while - which was very well maintained on our visit. Though being a dirt road, you’ll have to check whether your Camplify rental is permitted for offroad activities before heading here (Rusty the Renault was).

Whether you’re a casual camper or a seasoned holiday-maker. This getaway was suitable for even the most refined traveler which demands complete comfort & convenience on their getaway. So go ahead - pop your local suburb in Camplify today, and see what hidden gems might be hiding around your local area.
