Just outside the township lies Arakoon National Park, home to the historic Trial Bay Gaol.

Trial Bay Gaol is named after the brig, Trial, that shipwrecked here way back in 1816. Located on the mid-North Coast of New South Wales and peppered with history, sandy coves and so much more, it is time to jump in your adventure mobile and explore.

What will you find we hear you ask? Well, a historic prison for one. The gaol opened in 1886 but closed in 1903. Things to see and do

Little bay is a must-see

There is so much to see and do around the South West Rocks area. From the heights of the Smokey Cape Lighthouse down to the peaceful waters in Horshoe Bay Beach - we recommend a few solid days here! If you are a keen ocean dweller head out on a Wildside sportfishing excursion or dive into the deep with the crew at Fish Rock Dive Centre.

During the Summer months check out the beachside markets in South West Rocks. Located in the reserve area and serving up an abundance of fresh produce, handmade goods, and food trucks to appease the hungry adventurers among the group. If you are travelling through on the second Saturday of each month we highly recommend grabbing a feed and heading down to the beach to relax.
