New calendar feature: How to block handover days while keeping your van available

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and this latest update comes straight from the suggestions of our owner community. We know that as an owner, you want to keep those booking requests rolling in, but life sometimes gets in the way of being there to greet your hirers.

Whether you are heading away for a long weekend or have a busy day at work, you might be happy for your van to be out on the road, but simply unavailable to facilitate a handover on a specific Tuesday or Wednesday.

Introducing: available but no handover

This new feature is all designed around flexibility. It allows you to secure longer bookings that span across your busy days without needing to be physically present to start or end a trip on those dates.

Previously, if you knew you couldn’t meet a hirer on a Friday, you might have blocked the whole day out. This meant your van wouldn't appear in search results for anyone looking to hire for the full week. Now, you can stay visible and keep earning, while ensuring the pickup and drop off happen when it suits you.

How it works

The no handover day Your vehicle remains visible in search results for any hirers looking to book a trip that includes those dates. If someone wants to hire your caravan for two weeks, your van will still show up as an option even if you have a "no handover" day right in the middle of their trip.

The restriction While the van is available to be out on hire, hirers cannot select that specific day as their start or end date. This applies whether they are opting for a local pickup or you are providing delivery to a nearby caravan park.

The hirer view When a hirer looks at your listing calendar, they will see a small red dot in the corner of the date. This notifies them that a booking cannot begin or conclude on that day, helping them plan their trip around your availability.

How to set it up in your calendar

Setting this up takes less than a minute. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in and head to your Calendar.

  2. Highlight the specific dates you wish to change.

  3. Select the new option: Available but no handover.

  4. Hit Save.

It is the perfect way to keep your booking momentum going while you enjoy some well-deserved time off. By using this feature, you can ensure your van stays busy on the road while you stay flexible at home.
