The public holiday gods have blessed us this year, with Anzac Day falling on Thursday 25th April. Day 1: Sydney > Blue Mountains

Kickstart your road trip by departing from Sydney bright and early, heading west towards the majestic Blue Mountains. As you leave the bustling city behind, the scenery transforms into rolling hills and lush forests.

Stop for breakfast at a quaint café in the town of Leura, known for its charming streets and boutique shops. After fueling up, make your way to the iconic Three Sisters rock formation in Katoomba. Take a scenic walk along the cliff tops for panoramic views of the Jamison Valley below.

As the sun begins to set, find a picturesque spot to park your campervan for the night. There are several campsites available in the Blue Mountains, offering a serene setting amidst nature. Enjoy a cosy dinner under the stars before settling in for a restful night's sleep.

Day 2: Blue Mountains > Hunter Valley

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before hitting the road towards the Hunter Valley , Australia's oldest wine-producing region. Along the way, make a stop at the quaint village of Kurrajong Heights for some scenic views and a coffee break.

Day 3: Hunter Valley > Port Stephens

After breakfast, hit the road towards Port Stephens , a coastal paradise known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. En route, make a stop at the historic town of Morpeth , where you can stroll along the heritage streets and browse the charming boutiques.

Arrive in Port Stephens and spend the afternoon exploring the natural beauty of the area. Take a dolphin-watching cruise in the sheltered waters of the bay or enjoy a thrilling sandboarding adventure on the towering dunes of Stockton Beach.

There are several holiday parks and campgrounds in Port Stephens, offering facilities such as BBQ areas and hot showers. Cook up a delicious dinner and unwind by the campfire as you listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.

Day 4: Port Stephens > Sydney

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the ocean before hitting the road back to Sydney. Take the scenic coastal route for breathtaking views of the coastline and make a stop at one of the charming seaside towns along the way.

Queensland

Brisbane > Sunshine Coast > Mooloolaba > Hervey Bay > Brisbane

Day 1: Brisbane > Sunshine Coast

Kick off your journey bright and early, departing from Brisbane and heading north towards the picturesque Sunshine Coast. Arriving in the charming coastal town of Caloundra , spend the afternoon exploring the stunning coastal scenery, from the Caloundra Coastal Walkway to the golden sands of Kings Beach , there's no shortage of natural beauty to enjoy.

As the day winds down, continue on to the Sunshine Coast hinterland and arrive in the quaint town of Montville. Nestled among lush rainforest, Montville offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Check into a local campground and spend the evening wandering through the town's art galleries and boutique shops.

Day 2: Sunshine Coast > Glass House Mountains

After breakfast, explore more of Montville's attractions, including the breathtaking Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve , with its lush rainforest and stunning views of the Glass House Mountains , this is a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

Take the scenic route to the nearby Glass House Mountains National Park where you’ll soon be surrounded by towering peaks and lush vegetation. Set out on a hike along one of the park's trails, soaking in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Mount Ngungun Summit Walk is a favourite, offering breathtaking vistas from the summit.

As the sun begins to set, head to the coastal town of Mooloolaba and check into a beachfront caravan park or campground. Dinner is a delicious seafood feast at one of Mooloolaba's waterfront restaurants, followed by a leisurely stroll along the Esplanade.

Day 3: Glass House Mountains > Hervey Bay

With the sun rising over the horizon, wake up early and bid farewell to Mooloolaba as the open road calls again. Our destination for the day is Hervey Bay , a charming coastal town known for its pristine beaches and relaxed atmosphere.

The drive from the Glass House Mountains to Hervey Bay is scenic, with stunning coastal views along the way. Make a stop at Australia Zoo for a memorable wildlife experience before continuing on towards Hervey Bay.

Upon arrival, spend the afternoon exploring the town's attractions, from the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens to the iconic Urangan Pier. Check into a local caravan park and settle in for the evening, enjoying dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Hervey Bay > Brisbane

Make the most of your final day with a leisurely morning in Hervey Bay. Wake up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore and soak in the serene coastal ambiance. Heading back to Brisbane, don’t miss the opportunity to jump in the warm Queensland waters for a quick dip before returning your van.
