"The coolest thing about Paquita is... the livability of this van," Jake explains. "The way you can just flow from the entry to the exit at the back... it's very livable, I think. There's lots of space and you got lots of storage for all your stuff. You can get surfboards in there as well."

Jake's journey into van conversions wasn't a traditional one. As he shared, "When Covid came around I had a lot of spare time... I accidentally won a massive [van] on an online auction. It wasn't actually what I wanted, but I thought, 'Alright, well I guess we're going all in now.'" 

This unexpected start ignited a passion, and with the help of his builder father, Jake honed his skills. "Dad's a builder, so I always had him to stop me from when I was about to make a bad decision," he laughs, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind his creations. "It's kind of interesting because he approaches building a van from a very traditional building sense, whereas me... I approach it from a different way. When we both meet, you get something that's sturdy, reliable, but also utilises techniques that you would only use in a van."
