Camplify Uncovered | Jack and Megan
)
It’s tough not to feel envious of Jack and Megan. They can usually be found travelling around Australia in their kitted-out Troopy, filming their adventures for their YouTube channel. Recently, however, we managed to convince them to swap their Troopy for Eddie, an epic Mercedes Sprinter. Was their experience enough to convert them to van life? Better scroll down to find out.

Tell us about yourselves. How have you gotten to this point in your journey? Where would we find you if you weren’t in a Camplify van?
Hi, we're Jack and Megan! A few years ago, we decided that we wanted to live out of a tiny home on wheels and travel Australia before ‘settling down’. Almost three years have passed and we’re still travelling and living out of our Toyota Troop Carrier, creating weekly YouTube videos for a living. We rarely stay put for very long but you can usually find us filming the beautiful Australian landscape or editing in the back of the Troopy.

Talk us through your trip. Where did you go? And for how long? Any highlights?
We took Eddie the campervan down the Great Ocean Road to explore the Great Otway National Park. We had four nights in Eddie and decided to travel a little slower than usual, so we could really take in the beauty of the rainforest. We visited the towering trees of the California Redwood forest and camped with the most incredible view at Beauchamp Falls. We also took a walk down into the rainforest to see the waterfall, which was definitely a highlight!
You’re usually found cutting around in a Troopy – how did you find the switch to a van? What did you like about it?
The van felt like total luxury in comparison to the Troopy – we kept calling it an apartment on wheels! We loved so many things about Eddie, from the massive, king-size bed to the air fryer/oven. The electrical setup also made working off-grid a dream and being able to park up and instantly prepare food, get to work or easily access something from the back was great. That said, we definitely missed the Troopy’s ability to go off-road, and given it’s a smaller vehicle, it’s a little easier to drive.

Are you van converts yet? Or will the Troopy always be your baby?
We may have been converted to van life after our experience in Eddie! The Troopy will always be our baby, but now we live and work full time on the road, a van would definitely make daily life easier. But we love getting off the beaten track, so if we were to convert to van life, it would have to be a 4WD.
Feeling inspired? It might be time to hire a van and take to the Great Ocean Road like Jack and Megan.
