4. BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park

There’s a reason why Melburnians are flocking to Bendigo and property prices are only half the story. One of Victoria’s fastest-growing cities, Bendigo boasts beautiful architecture, a rich gold-rush history and a thriving arts scene. The BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park is a great place to base while exploring the region; kids will love the pool and playground, while adults will appreciate not only the wineries dotted around the outskirts of town, but also the on-site golf simulator.

The Whitsundays – need we say more? Conveniently plopped in Airlie Beach, at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, this family-friendly eco-resort makes for an epic spot on any Far North Queensland road trip. Given the heat, there’s a refreshing pool and outdoor cinema, but it’s really the location that’s key here.
