When you spend time travelling and caravanning you meet lots of unique and interesting people, and you encounter some strange caravan equipment. It is part of the joy of caravanning – finding new, unique things that make the experience more enjoyable, easier, or fun. So, in the spirit of the odd, weird and wonderful, we have put together a list of nine strange caravan accessories. It is an eclectic mix from around the world, but many are likely to end up on your Christmas wish list.

Mini Portable Compact Washing Machine

As far as caravan hire accessories go, this is one of the most practical. When you have one of these in your caravan you can put your days of wearing underwear and socks for more than one day at a time behind you. We can’t see it handling heavy duty washes, but for your essentials it is, well, essential.

We can’t see it handling heavy duty washes, but for your essentials it is, well, essential.

RV Shelter

We all have to go home at some stage, and that presents a problem – where do you park the RV? If you don’t have a shelter in your yard this easy to construct pop up shelter – come tent – come big RV sleeping bag – should do the trick. Come to think of it, it looks cosier in there than it does in some normal sleeping bags.

The Executioner – Electronic Fly Zapping Racket

People who go on caravan holidays are not really known for being aggressive – except when it comes to battling bugs and flies. That’s why this brilliantly named fly zapper is a must have. Let us set the scene – you are sitting outside your caravan on a warm evening with a beautiful view and a delicious glass cabernet sauvignon on the table beside you. Then the flies appear. Do you start swatting and flapping while becoming increasingly frustrated? Heck no – you simply and calmly say: “Mavis, get me The Executioner”.

Ostrich Multi Position 3N1 Beach Chair

For those of you who are sun worshippers and fans of the 50 Shades of Grey novels, this chair is perfect for you. No longer do you have to prop yourself up on your elbows to read your books and magazines. Instead you can let it all hang loose below you with your head in a perfectly comfortable position.

Margaritaville Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker with Re-chargeable Battery

With this essential caravan and RV accessory, it is always margarita time. There is not much else to say really, except hit the road, and keep them coming!

The Road Refresher

This ingenious contraption will keep your beloved pooch happy on any journey, including long trips in hot weather. It is a non-spill water bowl so your dog can have a drink at any speed on the Princess Highway (or anywhere else).

Collapsible Camp Rake

Two different types of people would benefit from this unusual caravanning accessory. The first are those who desperately miss doing gardening when they are away from home and need a regular fix to keep them sane. The second are those who want to keep the area around the caravan or RV tidy. As it is full size and collapsible it is perfect for both situations.

Endless Breeze Fan

Stay cool wherever you are with this truly portable fan. It has many uses, including being perfect for cooling down after a bit of intense racking.

Hot Tub

Yes, we saved the best for last. It is a hot tub, the ultimate in luxurious RV accessories. Just park up, start the bubbles, climb on your roof, and relax. The champagne and yellow bikini is, unfortunately, not included, but they can easily be found elsewhere.
