Tony is a wonderful old car; spacious, mechanically reliable, pretty to look at and exciting to drive . He's been kitted out by two average blokes and although not a work of art, it has all the camping essentials. Three seats are available in the front, and plenty of storage room in the back. The idea is to keep things simple, yet available. If you want more room, then I can supply just the basics. If you want all the extras, then that's fine too. No extra charge. Please note. You'll find other vehicles on camplify in much better supply of luxury. If that is what you are looking for, then perhaps this isn't for you. Tony is basic; aged and rugged, and we like him just like that. Whether you have never driven a Troopy before, or own one yourself, you'll see that it's an absolute pleasure to drive this old boy. The best way to pay him back is to do what he loves most; long drives along the coast, windows down and music up, stopping at all the good beaches along the way.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    We had a fantastic experience and cant recommend renting the Troopy enough! We ended up spontaneously extending our trip (twice!) because we loved camping in Tasmania with Tony so much. Liam is extremely generous and provided plenty of useful extras - the heated blanket was our favorite and made sleeping in the rooftop tent really cosy even on colder days. Tony is a car with great character and we loved feeling like locals while traveling around Tassie. It also has loads of space and storage options and we were able to easily store our big suitcases. Liam is extremely easy to communicate with and always happy to help. Thank you so much for everything, Liam!

    I hired Tony for my Tasmania trip and it truly became part of the adventure. Yes, its not a new vehicle but dont be misled. Its strong, solid, and incredibly reliable. Driving a proper manual through Tasmanias wild landscapes made the whole experience feel more authentic and immersive. Its not just transport; its part of the journey. Despite its age, it offers a surprising level of comfort combined with a real sense of adventure. Id strongly recommend it to anyone comfortable with manual driving who wants more than just a standard rental and is keen to fully embrace the wild. Liam was also fantastic kind, down to earth, and very thoughtful. He prepared everything with great attention to detail and even added an extra blanket after I mentioned I was doing the trip solo and was worried about cold nights. That gesture meant a lot and shows how much he genuinely cares about his guests experience.
