Looking for a comfy, reliable and retro-cool campervan for a coastal trip or weekend getaway? Meet Fredrick – a professionally converted VW T4 with plenty of character. He’s not built for speed, but once you’re cruising at highway pace, he’s in his element. Inside, he’s spacious, practical, and set up with everything you need for a great time away. Here are some of his features... Comfort: • A proper coil spring double mattress – honestly so comfy we don’t even miss our bed at home when we’re on the road. • Both driver and passenger seats swivel around to face the rear of the van making a great lounge/living area especially when parked facing the beach! • VWs are a bit wider than similar vans (like Toyotas), which makes a big difference when two of you are sleeping or just moving about inside. • Air conditioning while driving. • Curtains and front window covers give you privacy when parked. • We’ll kit you out with pillows, sheets, blankets, bath towels and beach towels so you can pick up and go. Features: • Bluetooth stereo so you can play your own music easily. • Fully stocked kitchen: stove, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, utensils, oil, spices, coffee maker and all the dishwashing gear. • Both front seats swivel right around to open up the space and create a cosy lounge area, and you can store your gear in the footwells to keep things out of the way when parked up. • Two seriously comfy reclining camp chairs and a portable table (inside or outside use). Functionality: • Fridge to keep food and drinks cold. • USB ports front and back, with spare cables ready to go. • Phone mount for easy GPS use. • Loads of storage: side cabinets, under-bed compartments, rear drawers, and a wire rack for all the extras. • Rear drawers even include a sliding table for easy food prep. • Plug into shore power at campsites to run basic household appliances. • Interior lights and fairy lights for a warm glow in the evenings. Safety: • Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector fitted. • Fire extinguisher and fire blanket on board (hopefully never needed!). • Driver’s airbag. Extras: • Side awning to create a shaded outdoor space. • Tailgate tent that turns the rear into a private room with windows and a door – open for views, closed for privacy. • Portable shower to rinse off (though campsite showers are always nicer). • Campfire lighting gear, dustpan and rubbish bags included. Fuel Economy & Location: • Fredrick's fuel economy is about 10L/100km, which is pretty good. You will be able to travel roughly 600–800 km per tank of petrol. Fredrick is not compatible with E10 petrol. Unleaded 91, 95 or 98 only. • Pickup is from North Sydney (2060) – easy to get to via train, ferry or bus. We are approx. a 30-minute drive from Sydney Airport. We can arrange airport transfers for you for an additional fee if you require.
