Hi Everyone, Meet Harriet! Harriet is a 1996 Toyota Hiace, fully equipped to take you on your Kangaroo Island adventure. She has been thoughtfully fitted out to be a functional and comfortable camper, perfect for couples and solo travellers. Some of Harriet's features include: šŸ›ļø - Folding double bed to maximise floorspace and provide seating. šŸ“- Slide out kitchen with a double burner stove. A selection of cutlery and cookware is included. āš”ļø- Off-grid electrical system for all your power and lighting needs. ā„ļø - A 30L drawer fridge conveniently located under the bed. šŸš° - 22L water tank with a pump and hose to clean sandy feet and wash dishes with ease. There are also a number of cleaning utensils for keeping things tidy on the go, with ample storage for any items needed whilst enjoying your travels. Harriet will have everything you need to get around and enjoy everything our island has to offer. Simply bring some clothes, food/drinks and you'll be on your way! BEFORE BOOKING: You're welcome to email me at fjcolman9@gmail.com with any questions you may have regarding Harriet (or Kangaroo Island in general). I will usually be able to get back to you within a couple of hours. I can provide you with plenty of information on where to visit, places to camp and things to see and do. GETTING TO KI: Making your way to KI can sometimes present it's challenges, so it is best to plan as much as possible well in advance. You can travel to KI via ferry (45 min trip) or plane (around 20 mins from Adelaide). If you are travelling with Sealink on the ferry, vehicle spaces can be booked out months in advance during peak times. Walk-on tickets are considerably cheaper and usually readily available but be sure to book before you travel to avoid any disappointment. There is no public transport on the island, so if you have booked a walk-on ferry ticket your best option is to make a booking with Yorke Peninsula Coaches to get into Kingscote. The shuttle departing Penneshaw (ferry terminal) connects with the 9:00am and 6:00pm ferry from Cape Jervis. This shuttle also departs Kingscote connecting with the 8:30am and 7:30pm ferries from Penneshaw for your return trip. If you are arriving by air, there are shuttle services available into Kingscote from the airport (15 minute drive). I'm currently working full time and constantly on the move during the day so please let me know well in advance what bookings you have made so I can schedule in a time to meet! HIRING RULES: - Minimum hirer age is 21 (must have valid full license) - No pets - No off-road / beach driving - No smoking inside van - Please dispose of your rubbish appropriately and leave your campsites clean. - Unsealed roads are inevitable on KI. Intended travel involving unsealed roads are to be discussed with me at pick-up. - Maximum distance of 200km per day (averaged over length of booking). A fee of $1.00 per/km over this limit will be charged if exceeded. - The van must be left with a full tank of fuel at drop-off - The van must be dropped off in the same condition as it was picked up. Failure to do so will incur extra fees. PRECAUTIONS/SAFETY - KI is known for its abundance of wildlife, and a lot of it is found on our roads! Please be aware of this whilst driving and be extra careful in the mornings and evenings. Avoid driving during low light hours and at night. - If an engine light comes on or you are in an accident, pull over, stay safe and call me as soon as you can. - During winter months some roads can become flooded. DO NOT attempt to cross any flooded roads or bridges. - Keep an eye on bushfire danger ratings during summer for the duration of your travels, as conditions can be very unpredictable.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    My partner and I spent 5 days trekking around Kangaroo Island in Harriet and had the best time. Harriet was a delight, handled everything thrown at her by the roads. Frank was great at making us feel at ease before we set out, clear in communication and made our lives and holiday easier. No issues, cannot recommend highly enough. 5*
