The Grey Nomad is a budget-friendly, basic, cute cosy cabin on wheels, equipped with all the essentials for your next WA adventure! Van is located 5 minutes away from the Fremantle Train Station (you can easily grab the train from the airport ). She's old school, with wind up windows and manual wing mirrors, but The Grey Nomad is ultra reliable and very economical to run. Aircon has been installed in cab Jan 2026. Whether you are going for a surf trip down to Margaret River or hitting the road north to Exmouth for a dive, you have plenty of storage for gear inside the cabin and at the back! Big queen size bed located in the back for enjoying amazing views, plus a mezzanine space for a 3rd passenger inside. A mosquito dome AND a tent can be included if you just want to sleep outside on warm nights. We have 3 chairs and 1 table for outdoor setting. -chemical toilet and camping shower on request to go off grid camping. -200-watt solar panel with DCDC charger - stay powered off-grid -extension chord provided if staying in 1 place for a while, or if the sun isn't out much, to plug in to mains. Long term (2 weeks +) rates can be negotiated. 😉

She's experienced and therefore an older hand, but being a Hiace, ultra reliable and economical. Covered by roadside assist via Camplify and we are also invested and concerned owners, you won't be let down if any issues come up.

Hiring rules

  • No off road driving
  • Average of 200km per day is included in the hire. Additional KM will be charged at 35c/km. This is because it does add to servicing costs.
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    I love this van! Absolutely perfect for my trip down the South West corner. Nothing fancy but has everything needed for a super comfortable holiday and shes great on fuel. Would love to hire her again.

An enthusiastic traveller myself, I currently work as a teacher of remote students in WA, based in Fremantle. Myself and my 3 teenagers have often hired vehicles to travel with in the past, so are very cognisant of requirements when hitting the road! Anything not listed in the vehicle descriptions, just ask and we may well be able to accommodate you!
