Stan the Van has a 5 speed manual transmission, and takes Diesel fuel only. Please return the van clean, and with a full tank of diesel There is a battery monitor screen in the van, we will show you this during the handover. If the battery drops below 90%, please plug external power into the side of the van with the supplied extension lead (again, will show you all this when you pick up the van). Please keep the doors and windows shut when parked and use all the provided cleaning accessories / products to ensure Stan stays nice and clean during and at the end of your hire. This will be very much appreciated and avoid any additional cleaning charges. Please do not use an automatic car wash. Use manual car wash only, to avoid any damage to the solar panels on the roof. If you are unfamiliar with using a side awning, I have included a short instructional video on how to set one up.   We rented the van from Richy & Amy for 2 weeks and had an amazing time. We took it along the south east coast to Albany and then all the way up to Monkey Mia. The van itself drove perfectly and we experienced no problems whatsoever, indicating it had obviously been very well maintained. The seats were comfy for long drives, and we found it wasnt as fuel hungry as expected for a big van when cruising around at under 100kph. Finally, the sound system in this Toyota model with its Bluetooth connectivity made for some enjoyable roadtripping. The interior was thoughtfully designed, with lots of helpful features and amenities that made our life easier. We found the sink and microwave to be incredibly convenient, allowing for luxuries like microwave meals/rice and quick washing up. The fridge was large enough to store a decent amount of food. Full cooking utensils were provided, along with oil/salt/spices. And most importantly, the solar panel and battery functioned superbly, with the battery filling up extremely quickly each morning. We chose to keep the rear of the van in bed mode instead of table mode for pretty much all of the time, as it can take a bit of time to set up and put away the bed. The bed itself was very comfy and a good size for the 2 of us, making it very cosy at night. If its hot outside at night (e.g. 25+ degrees up north), then the inside of the van will also be quite hot. But the built in fan can mitigate it a bit. Finally, the overall communication with Richy & Amy was excellent. From the initial introduction to the van, to the fast replies on Camplify messages, it was always a pleasure to rent from them. Amy even gave us a lift to the nearby train station after we returned the van, which was very kind of her. There was also a lovely food box given to us when the rental started, containing chocolate, wine and some other goodies. I can only highly recommend going with them if you are looking to do some vanlife in Western Australia.
