This HiTop Toyota Hiace Campervan has seen more swell ends than weekends. With the equivalent of almost 50 laps of Australia under its belt, Mental Exodus is an oldy (2009 vintage) but a goody and is the perfect machine to hit the open road and discover the hidden gems of Australia! You won't be getting an "insta famous" boho style van, but a solid reliable van, that whilst it shows some cosmetic signs of age, is a practical and user friendly vehicle. Whilst the van is great in a caravan park, I have fitted out the van to be self sufficient "off grid". With a built in shower & casette toilet (no pop up shower tent required here) and solar panels providing both 230V AC and 12V DC power, this baby can park up almost anywhere. The 2000W inverter ensures you can power your 230V AC devices as required. The onboard toaster machine and microwave (mains power needed) provide that little bit of extra comfort, and the 24 inch TV can be double as a laptop monitor for those needing to check the emails and update the socials whilst on the road. The bedding layout is 2 x double beds, with the top bed being accessed by a small ladder (great for kids, not so great for those who are a bit bigger). The bottom bed converts from the dining area and is super comfy for two fully grown humans! When retracted, the top bunk area can be used for additional storage. Inside the cabin, the 64k RGB LED light strips allow you to set the mood to any colour you wish, or give you plenty of usable light when in "white "mode (great for late night reading, knitting or jigsaw puzzling). The hitop is very easy to navigate, meaning you can stand at full height without having to bend over. There are 230V power points in the kitchen and dining area. Both bed areas have dedicated 12V points with 2 x USB plus to charge your devices, no flat batteries when trying to upload those selfies to Insta! The kitchen has a two burner gas stove, microwave, fridge and toaster. The van comes with crockery, cutlery and drinking ware for 4. Upfront, the driving experience is simple, with a automatic gearbox meaning no shuffling the cogs. The Kenwood stereo has Android & iPhone connectivity, meaning you can stream your Spotify while on the move. Airconditioning in the front cabin makes for watching the world go past in comfort. Additional information

Rocky Mounts Backstage Bike Rack availble for an extra $10.00 per day. The Backstage allows you to access the rear door of the van without needing to remove the bikes, Holds 2 bikes.

Hiring rules

No smoking in the van.
Cassette Toilet must be cleaned at caravan park or public point before returning.
Must be returned clean and sanitary. A $200.00 CLEANING FEE WILL APPLY IF THE CASETTE IS NOT EMPTIED AND CLEAN ON RETURN.
The van will be full of Petrol when you pick it up, please return it with a full tank.
EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 1300 416 133 they call the NRMA. Then call me!
DAMAGE If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required.
NO OFFROAD / NO Beach Driving / NO Extended Gravel Roads/ NO Smoking inside
UNSEALED roads must be preapproved in writing in Camplify Messages before the trip begins. Please be familiar with the exclusions, terms and conditions of insurance coverage.
LONG TRIPS Unless otherwise negotiated at the time of hire, the van must stay in NSW (within a 500km radius of Newcastle basically up or down the coast to the North or South border) for the duration of the hire. I am happy to consider destinations further away, but require a rough itenary to ensure that I can plan appropriately for servicing, etc.
CLEANING Clean the equipment and Van. Excessive cleaning will incur a charge.
COOKING GAS A full cylinder is included in the hire, any additional refils during the term of the hire are at the expense of the hirer
TOLLS Any toll roads travelled on will be charged to the eTag on the van, these charges will then be charged to the hirer and taken from the bond paid to Camplify
No off road and drivers 25+ only.
Please note the van is GPS tracked.

Cancellations

Flexible

Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Great value and comfortable. Once you get yourself organised and get a routine it was a great way to travel. The van is easy to drive and I had no problems at all.

Shane was fantastic! The handover and the videos to prepare you for the trip are incredibly helpful and amazing. Overall, the van is excellent. Its very spacious, lots of storage, and comfortable. If you plan to use the bottom bed, I recommend adding the top cushions or even a memory foam topper. I used my queen memory foam topper, and it made a world of difference. Apart from that, Im eagerly looking forward to renting this van again! Thanks, Shane.

We had a great time during our 7 days trip. Shane's taking good care of this van which shows its age. Everything was functional, although the floor plan is old, with the toilet/shower space not really needed and the 2 seats at the back of the van. The main bed was really hard to sleep on due to the many old cushions of different firmness and thickness and uneven surface due to the back seats. I strongly advice future hirers to bring a good mattress topper to make it more comfortable. The van is very demanding on fuel so be prepared for it. All in all a good experience.
