Bertha is a 1999 Hitop Toyota Hiace. 2.4L petrol engine, manual gearbox. **IMPORTANT** Before choosing Bertha, please ensure you are confident with: 1. Driving manual vehicles 2. Driving older pre-2000's vehicles and 3. Carrying out maintenance checks and following troubleshooting directions. !! As an older vehicle with a distributor ignition system, extreme wet weather can affect cold starting. You will be shown the steps to rectify any issues you may comes across in wet conditions on handover; it is VERY IMPORTANT you understand what you are being shown. Additional accessories available to use include - 15A Extension lead to run 240V - Tailgate mosquito net

Hiring rules

1. NO smoking, pets, offroading or beach access. Additional cleaning fees apply.
2. Vehicle to be returned clean and refuelled.
3. A $150.00$200.00 cleaning fee will be incurred by the hirer for vehicles not returned cleaned and in a state which it went out.
4. A $500.00 outback cleaning fee applies to vehicles requiring additional underbody, inner cabinetry and/or engine bay clean (eg sand, dust, saltwater, mud ingress) or extraordinary cleaning involving sanitation and biohazard exposure.
5. Vehicles not returned or abandoned away from drop off address will incur penalty hire rates starting at $100.00/day. Costs incurred for vehicle recovery will be charged at $3.00/km + tolls and fuel to hirer.

Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Hire Fee: From $60.00 per day
Service fee: $20.00

Cancellations

Flexible

Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Really enjoyed using Bertha. First Camper experience and we hit it off. 7000km The screen in the front is great for your maps. The fridge works well, ice from the top. Produced lots off good cooking washed down with ice cold white wine. Easy to keep clean. Eilleen is a great host. Always quick at responding and good at providing practical suggestions. Makes great coffee as well. I calculated the vans fuel efficiency because I'm nerdy for numbers and it came in at 12.18L/100km so right as stated. Enjoy.

We had a great time away in Bertha. She is a great budget van to experience campervanning for the first time. Eilleen was very helpful. Would definitely recommend Bertha. Just remember to bring your own equipment and stove!
