Special towing information

The MDC Forte SR17+ is a sturdy hybrid van that requires a capable tow vehicle. Towing Capacity: Your vehicle MUST have a minimum braked towing capacity of 2,500kg and a towball rating of 250kg. Connector: The van uses a 12-pin flat plug. We can provide adapters for round plugs if needed. Safety: The van is fitted with Tuson Electronic Stability Control (ESC). This works automatically to prevent sway, providing a much safer towing experience on the highway. Mirrors: We recommend (and can provide) clip-on towing mirrors for your vehicle to ensure you have a clear view down the sides of the 2.31m wide van.

  • General Rules
  • No Smoking: Strictly no smoking or vaping inside the van. A cleaning fee of $500.00 will apply if smoke odor is detected.
  • Toilet Policy: The toilet cassette must be returned empty and thoroughly cleaned. Failure to do so will result in a $200.00 "Dirty Utility" fee.
  • No OffRoad Use
  • Awning Care: The awning must be retracted during high winds or if you are leaving the van unattended. Damage to the awning is a common insurance claim and is easily avoided!
  • Technical & Power Rules
  • OffGrid Power: Please note that the solar system runs the lights, fridge, and pumps only. The Air Conditioning and Microwave will not function unless you are plugged into 240V mains power at a campsite.
  • Brake Controller: Hirers must have an electric brake controller installed in their vehicle. If you do not have one, please let us know so we can arrange a portable unit (if available).
  • Towing Capacity: Your vehicle must have a minimum braked towing capacity of 2,500kg and a towball weight capacity of 250kg.
  • Cleaning & Return
  • Standard Clean: The van should be returned in a similar state to how it was collected (floor swept, surfaces wiped).
  • Exterior: Please do not wash the exterior with abrasive brushes. If you’ve been on dusty roads, a simple hosedown is fine. We handle the professional exterior detail as part of your service fee.
  • Fuel/Gas: Gas bottles are provided full. You do not need to refill them; this is covered in your service fee.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
