If you're looking for something you can drive on a car license that’s fun and functional, you'll love Barney. Named after our giant white dog, our bus may not be fancy but it’s comfy and comes with everything you need for your trip. Plug in at a camp site or use the lithium batteries off grid - the choice is yours. With a large, comfy seating area, double bed, oven, microwave and stove top, tv with aerial, hdmi cable and dvd player (and plenty of dvds to choose from), multiple charging points, air con, diesel heater, sirocco fan, internal shower (with hot water), internal flushing toilet, outdoor chairs, small outdoor burner for BBQ's and lots more - you should have a comfy trip whatever your plans. Pets are welcome but please do take care of Barney!

-Drivable on a manual car license. -2 x 60l water tank. -1 litre of mineral water provided per person per day of hire. -Solar panels plus dc to dc charger (meaning you can charge the batteries while the engine is running- perfect for cloudy days!) -20l portable grey water tank (if required at campsite). - 2x20 litre empty drinking water containers. -Large fridge/freezer -All cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking equipment, kettle, toaster, linen and towels provided. -Pantry items including tea, coffee, sugar, oil, spices, salt and pepper. -Indoor shower and toilet.

Hiring rules

No smoking in Barney please.
Pets are very welcome but please do take care with Barney! If you are bringing your furry friend we can provide a single mattress to convert the seating area into a giant dog bed!
Up to 200 km’s per day included in hire usage beyond this charged at 50cents per kilometre.
Fuel tank will be full on pick up and should be retuned full
Delivery for "stay" bookings is limited to within 50km of Sippy Downs delivery fee $2.00 per km

Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Pricing

Hire Fee: From $110.00 per day
Service fee: $30.00
Delivery fee: Delivery fee set by the owner following confirmation of delivery address

Cancellations

Flexible

Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

We booked Barney to go to the Woodford Folk Festival after flying up from Melbourne. It suited the two of us well. We had a powered site at the festival. I found the mattress very comfortable and it was great to have the air conditioner when needed. Claire also provides a 12v small fan and a larger 240v fan which were great to have. The outdoor camp stove was great for cooking steaks etc in the frypan. We also used the indoor cooktop and microwave. The 2 door fridge is a good size for a camper van and there were 3 drawers we used for pantry items so we were able to fit a good amount of supplies from the supermarket before we drove to the festival. We enjoyed our stay in Barney the Bus!

I spent 10 nights with Barney the Bus and felt that I really got familiar with motorhome life. Having a hot shower and toilet in the bus was a game changer for my off-grid trip. Barney's owner is incredibly easy to communicate with and amazingly committed to make sure the experience is positive and fulfilling. Barney has charm, is easy to drive and can give you a completely self contained cosy and relaxing home on wheels for your getaway.
