  • Driver requirements:
  • 1. Only the hirer is authorised to drive the hired vehicle. One other person my drive the hired vehicle if the owner is notified beforehand, and if they meet conditions (2) and (3).
  • 2. All driver(s) of the hired vehicle must hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence and have at least 6 months experience driving a manual vehicle.
  • 3. In an emergency, where a driver is unable to contact an authorised driver, a nonauthorised person may drive the hired vehicle.
  • Hirer(s) must:
  • 4. Only drive vehicle on sealed roads (excluding dirt carparks).
  • 5. Not leave vehicles unattended with the key in the ignition, and ensure, when away from the vehicle, that the vehicle is locked.
  • 6. Complete the logbook provided.
  • 7. Advise the owner of any defects, breakdowns or other problems immediately on returning the vehicle.
  • 8. Refill the vehicle to a full tank of fuel upon returning (the vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel upon hiring).
  • 9. Return vehicle as it was provided in a neat and tidy condition. Any rubbish, sand, dirt, or other foreign debris inside the vehicle must be removed prior to returning the vehicle. The outside of the vehicle must be cleaned by the hirer upon return if significantly dirty.
  • 10. Comply with the laws relating to the driving of vehicles in a public place.
  • 11. Drivers must comply with all relevant motor traffic rules and regulations including parking regulations. NOTE: Any infringements and/or penalties incurred by a driver of a University vehicle are the responsibility of the driver.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
