It has an automatic transmission and is fitted with a reversing camera for easy manoeuvring. Here are some handy tips for the road: It’s larger than a car – Allow extra braking distance so you can stop safely, and be patient when accelerating as it takes a little longer to get up to speed. It’s a tall vehicle – Watch for low-hanging obstacles like branches or roof overhangs. On main roads, clearance is usually fine (branches are trimmed for trucks), but be mindful on narrow roads, when parking, or near undercover carparks (most will be too low). It’s longer than a car – Take care when reversing. Always check behind you for low poles, rocks, or uneven surfaces that the reversing camera might miss. Be aware that dips or curves in the road can cause the rear to scrape. It’s heavier than a car – It can bog easily on soft ground, especially wet grass. At campgrounds or showgrounds in wet weather, try to park on firm surfaces to avoid getting stuck. CAN I PARK MY CAR AT YOUR HOUSE? Yes, there is parking available on our street and we can keep an eye on your vehicle, however we can’t guarantee its safety. WHERE CAN I STAY? There are plenty of options for overnight stays, with campgrounds and holiday parks being the most recommended. These locations offer useful facilities such as mains power, fresh water, dump points, and often showers, kitchens, and laundry. For a more budget-friendly option, country showgrounds can be a great choice. Free camping is also possible in many areas, and we’ve found that rest stops are often fine for an overnight stay. However, always check local regulations first, as some areas prohibit it and fines may apply. Rules vary from state to state — for example, Tasmania and Western Australia have many designated free camping spots, while Queensland and Byron Bay tend to be stricter about roadside camping. To make planning easier, apps like AirCamp and CamperMate can help you find both free and paid campsites and holiday parks across Australia. Wherever you stay, please remember the golden rule: leave no trace so these places remain beautiful for everyone.
