Experience the ultimate adventure with our affordable, off-grid campervan hire in Cairns. "The Tropical Explorer" is a solar-powered campervan equipped with a TV (Wi-Fi enabled for streaming), a basic camp kitchen pantry, camp table, chairs, awning, lighting, and multiple phone charging ports. Powered by rooftop solar panels and DC to DC charging while driving, you can explore Far North Queensland completely off-grid. Enjoy the comfort of a double mattress, blackout curtains for full privacy, and internal lighting. The kitchen features a roll-out side awning, fridge/freezer, gas burner stoves, cooking utensils. Additional amenities include board games, and a full off-grid 12V system with plenty of USB outlets. Airport pickup can be arranged; please message Petra for availability. She’s a beautifully configured home on wheels Very easy to drive with good aircon, plenty of storage inside for luggage. She is clean and fresh, and has a very homely feel. This awesome Campervan has everything you need for a relaxing trip to explore the Far North. PICK UP can be arranged at the airport, please message Petra for availability (Van is 10km from Cairns Airport) This hire location is for the FNQ region. SLEEPING- Double Mattress. Linen is, Cotton Sheets, 2 Pillows, Doona(winter) or cover(summer), 2 Towels, Fan above bed. Full privacy with blackout curtains all round Van. Internal lights lighting up the whole Van. Hiring rules

  • The hiring radius is 250kms in any direction from Cairns, which encompasses Port Douglas, Mossman, Daintree, Cape Tribulation, the Atherton Tablelands, Babinda, Innisfail, Mission Beach & Cardwell.
  • Comes with a full tank of diesel. Please ensure she if full of diesel upon return to avoid fees and charges.
  • Have Fun and relax!
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    We had a fantastic experience with the campervan! Everything was exactly as described, very clean and well prepared. The handover was smooth, and communication was excellent throughout. Highly recommended!

    The van is great it will go forever, loved driving it. The fitout is however very basic and tired and in need of an upgrade. The electrical system has been 'worked on' just before our hire. We had no power for the whole 10 days unless we booked into a powered site. The fridge and lights worked but that was it without an extension cord through the window. Back door tricky to close, sharp staples inside the shelves, no Bluetooth connection, awnings were missing parts so couldn't be used. Petra was great with communication, she tried to help but we weren't confident to mess with the electrical system. The experience was a bit disappointing but we still got to stay in the Daintree.
