Level up your RV sharing success with Camplify Expert insights

You're managing your RV listing, wondering why some bookings convert, and some don't, and you're not alone. That's exactly why Jacob hosted our first Western Australia owner workshop for 2026.

Quick wins: the data that drives bookings

The numbers don't lie. In WA, about 59% of successful bookings get approved within the first hour. That golden hour isn't just about being online - it's about having your notifications switched on and your responses ready.

Here's what separates thriving owners from the rest:

  • Instant responses win: Every hour you delay costs potential bookings

  • Extras equal income: 40% of hirers want add-ons, from linen to camp chairs

  • Duration matters: WA bookings average 10 days, longer than eastern states

Seasonal strategies that work in WA

Western Australia plays by different rules. While eastern states may be more seasonal, WA owners are still pulling strong bookings. The north-south positioning means year-round opportunities, especially for owners targeting the shoulder seasons.

March typically sees a dip - families are back to school routines and the weather's cooling. But savvy owners use this time for maintenance, pricing adjustments, and planning their peak season strategy.

Smart owners are also targeting international hirers from the UK, France, Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany who are booking longer trips and exploring off-grid destinations according to one owner.

The pet-friendly advantage

Here's a surprising stat: about 40% of WA listings welcome pets, but the demand is still underserved. Philip, one of our workshop participants, has clocked 30+ bookings with his pet-friendly off-road setup. By setting clear pet policies and realistic expectations, he has managed to find a niche here, adding a couple of extra bookings.

Most pet owners are actually more careful with your RV than you'd expect. They know finding pet-friendly options is tough, so they treat your van like gold according to discussions.

Delivery and pickup strategies

Offering delivery service isn't just convenient for hirers - it's a revenue booster. Workshop participants shared how delivery bookings often convert faster and attract hirers who might otherwise choose a different owner.

The key is clear communication about pickup and delivery logistics upfront. No surprises, no last-minute changes, and always confirm the day before handover.

Return hirers: your secret weapon

The workshop revealed a goldmine most owners ignore: previous hirers. Tracy and Kev are implementing discount code strategies specifically for return customers. The approach is simple - message previous hirers through the platform chat with exclusive comeback offers.

Return hirers already know your RV, they've had a good experience, and they're more likely to book extras. It's the lowest-effort, highest-conversion strategy available.

Building your owner network

The smaller group format meant real conversations instead of corporate presentations. Owners shared actual experiences: dealing with damage claims, managing off-grid bookings, and handling those nerve-wracking last-minute requests.

Rebecca, Tracey, Geoff, and Kevin didn't just listen - they contributed real-world solutions that only come from hands-on experience in the WA market.

Ready to implement these strategies and connect with other owners? Look out for our next workshop and turn your RV sharing into a thriving local business.
