Do you own an RV? Interested in learning how Camplify can help you turn your caravan, camper or motorhome into $5000 - $35,000 per year? Learn more about how Camplify works for owners here

Are you as excited as we are for this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000? The Great Race is less than 100 days away (October 4-7, 2018), so if you’re hoping to witness the best of the best in the V8 Supercars series, you’d better start looking for a place to stay in Bathurst. Sure, you could stay in a hotel, but where’s the fun in that? Why not take the RV for the occasion? There are plenty of campsites in and around the Bathurst area, so you’ll never be more than a stone’s throw away from all the action.

Don’t own an RV? No problem! As Australia’s largest RV sharing community, Camplify has hundreds of caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and camper trailers available for hire. Hiring an RV is the easiest way to experience the camping lifestyle in comfort and without the obligation of owning an RV. Especially as a member of the Camplify community, where you’re guaranteed peace of mind from the second you start browsing our listings to the moment you pull out of the driveway in your newly hired RV.

Now that you’ve got your RV, you’re going to need a place to park it. Don’t worry, we’ve gone ahead and made a list of some of the best RV friendly accommodation and campsites in the Bathurst area.

If being at the centre of all the action appeals to you, there are 8 campgrounds located within the event grounds. These campgrounds are offered by Supercars, but are limited in quantity and therefore in high demand. The reason for this is because only campsites that aren’t renewed by fans from previous years are available. For more information about these campgrounds, campsite rules, and when the remaining sites will go on sale, please visit The Official Supercars Website for more information.

The 8 campgrounds hosted by Supercars are as follows:

1. McPhillamy Campground

Camping atop Mount Panorama at McPhillamy Campground is a longstanding tradition for many of the diehard fans of the Bathurst 1000, so not only will you have some of the best seats in the house, you’ll also be surrounded by fellow motorsport enthusiasts. Get in quick because this prime position sells out quickly! Find tickets from Ticketek

2. Reid & Sulman Campground

Another campsite located on the mountain, Reid and Sulman Campground is a favourite among those who want to see as much of the racetrack as possible from the comfort of their site. Similar to McPhillamy, bookings go fast for these mountaintop sites, so it’s best to book as early as possible. Find tickets from Ticketek

3. Max Cameron Campground

Can’t get enough of the racing atmosphere? Max Cameron Campground is situated at the bottom of the track, near the food and drink stalls. We’d be surprised if you left Bathurst after staying here without making a friend of two! You’re allowed a maximum of 5 nights here. Find tickets from Ticketek

4. Paddock Campground

If you want to see some of the behind the scenes action, Paddock Campground is for you. Located right behind the pits, you’ll get to see just how fast the mechanics work, as well as sneak a closer look at the drivers. Find tickets from Ticketek

5. Chase Campground

Aptly named, Chase Campground is near the circuit, right by a section of track called “the Chase”. The Chase is a tricky three-turn sequence, known as the scene of numerous rollover accidents over the years. The ground here is rather flat, making it prone to mud; it’s best to choose a hard floor camper here, just to be safe. Find tickets from Ticketek

6. Enduro Campground

The Enduro Campground is uniquely situated to allow you quick access to Conrod Straight, the fastest section of the circuit, as well as the Paddock area for all the behind the scenes action. Find tickets from Ticketek

7. Motorhome Park

Although all of the campsites offered by Supercars are RV friendly, Motorhome Park is only one of two that is powered. It also has larger sites to accommodate even family-sized motorhomes and caravans. And at Motorhome Park, you’ll still be close to all the action by Conrod Straight. Find tickets from Ticketek

8. Harness Racing Motorhome Park

A fully-equipped campground, Harness Racing Motorhome Park is perfect for large motorhomes and caravans, as the entire site is powered and located on a flat asphalt surface. There’s even a restaurant and bar for all of your post-race celebrations. The site is a walkable distance from the circuit, but if you’d prefer, there’s also a free shuttle that runs to and from the track all weekend long. Find tickets from Ticketek

For all of your firewood needs, Valley View Firewood is the official on-site firewood supplier; just put in your order prior to arrival to have your firewood delivered right to your campsite. All of the above Supercars campgrounds are also equipped with toilet and shower facilities.
