Quipmo is the surf, bike and snow peer-to-peer gear rental marketplace for like-minded travellers and locals who share a passion for adventure. Quipmo provides a way for people to hire gear when and where they want it. Local gear owners can list their items for hire on the platform, becoming a local Quipmo distributor for their region. Quipmo connects people to equipment for the moment!

Camplify is the Quipmo of caravans and motorhomes, offering a range of vehicles to hire from brand new vans to vintage Volkswagens; tow vehicles to trailers, and a range of RVs that provide all the racks and straps to bring your Quipmo gear along for the ride.

To get you started on planning your next adrenaline rush, here’s the wrap-up of ideas for hiring your holidays goods on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast is a mecca for water sports

The Sunny Coast stretches over 1,600 square kilometres of pristine coastline and luscious tropical hinterland. From the southernmost area of Caloundra, just north of Brisbane, up to the luxury lifestyle location of Noosa Heads, there is plenty on offer - including 100 kilometres of coast.

The Coast is all about getting outdoors, whether it's surfing, cycling, paddling or hiking; the stunning region is also home to magnificent mountain ranges, breathtaking rainforests and crystal-clear waterfalls. For real.

The destination is as much about the journey, and there are a range of local vans on Camplify that will get you and your gear to some of Queensland’s most epic locations.

Catch the light of the sunset at new heights on one of the Coasts's epic peaks

Quipmo’s supplier By Earth and Ocean has a range of gear to cater for beaches, forests and trails, including boards, kayaks and bikes (we’re hanging out to try one of their eMTB bikes!) Check out some popular hire categories in the Sunshine Coast region:

Whatever gear tickles your fancy, the Sunshine Coast has a place for it. Take your pick from our three feature experiences - biking, surfing or paddling (or do them all!)

Glass House Mountains National Park

Ride over ridges

Our top picks for mountain biking on the Sunshine Coast would have to be Glass House Mountains and Tewantin Park.

Glass House Mountains National Parkis located just south of Caloundra and west of Bribie Island. The range is so spectacular that it is listed on the National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. The range is best suited to experienced riders, offering unparalleled views of the region and opportunities to also 4WD, hike, abseil and climb. We recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid the hottest part of the day; please note, it is also recommended to only visit the park in daylight hours.

Tewantin National Park

The Wooroi Mountain Bike Trails in Tewantin National Park are a popular destination for riders, just 5 minutes from Noosa. Offering smooth downhill flows and trails for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, trail types include wide fire roads, dual-use trails, narrow single tracks and flow tracks with jumps and berms. We recommend checking out some popular bike tracks on Strava, including Milkmaid, Snake, Bloodwood and Quoll.

Check out the Parks Queensland website to check which parks allow camping.

Explore from the coast to the tropical hinterland

Kayak in canals

There are some secrets the Sunshine Coast should simply share, and water sports locations are one of them.

The Sunny Coast is home to some beautiful breadths of calm waters, perfect for paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking. A piece of paradise to paddle down is Lake Currimundi, offering a sheltered and shallow waterway that leads out to epic Currimundi Beach. The beauty of the lake is the calm and shallow waters, crystal clear and an ideal location for the entire family to spend the whole day.

Follow the river mouth out from Currimundi Lake to the beach

Snuggled between Currimundi and Cotton Tree is a Sunshine hotspot: Maroochydore. Boasting a bustling food and drink scene, stunning canal scenery and of course, more surf clubs than you can poke a stick at, Maroochydore is perfectly positioned to centrally set up camp. If you fall in love with the middle of the Sunny Coast and want to continue exploring, stop in at Ingenia Rivershore holiday park for a few nights and take one of their epic eBikes on an adventure.

Cotton Tree Beach and Maroochy River provide the perfect paddling pool

From Ingenia, head 10 minutes east to the coast and find yourself at Cotton Tree Beach. Located just north of Alexandra Headland, Cotton Tree is the hidden gem in the heart of the coast. Home to a wealth of cosy, beach-side cafes, quaint fishing nooks, pristine coastline and boat tours, the beach is also dog-friendly. The real winner here is the ideal water sport conditions. The sheltered mouth of the Maroochy River means Cotton Tree is perfectly positioned for paddling, kayaking, jet-skiing, even SUP yoga; come on Sundays to experience the local markets, too.

Kings Beach is a Coast local favourite

Surf in the swell

Surf’s up at a selection of sick spots on the Sunny Coast. Starting down south, Caloundra is a popular spot for surfers, includinglocal beaches Kings Beach, Moffat, Dicky and Wurtulla. Wurtulla is our pick, favoured by the locals as one of the best surf beaches on the coast. (Moffat, Dicky and Wurtulla are also all dog-friendly!)

Idyllic Coolum Beach is post-card picture perfect

As you head north, you can catch a wave at Mooloolaba Beach (a calm beach, great for beginners) on your way up to Coolum (curls for beginners to advanced), Marcoola (for the confident swimmer - can be hazardous) and Mudjimba (a consistent point break) on the mid-north coast.

Of course, Noosa has a mecca of surf spots, including Main Beach (best for beginners), Tea Tree Bay (drool-worthy, in the National Park), Alexandria Bay (nudist-friendly) and Rainbow Beach (best beach for 4WDing).

Tourist-favourite Noosa is one of Australia's most popular beach destinations

We recommend always checking the weather regardless of the forecast, and keep close to patrolled areas with lifeguards and flags.

Whether you’d prefer to ride through a rainforest or canoe the canals (100% recommend pulling up to a jetty to order fresh fish and chips) the Sunshine Coast has everything you need - including everything you need to hire with Camplify and Quipmo.
