Special towing information
Towing plug - 7 pin flat (7 pin round adapter available on request) A towing mirror is available at no cost. Equipped with an Anderson plug. I am aiming to make this van as accessible as possible. Hence the single and daisy-chain delivery options. If you are towing, your vehicle does need a towing capacity of at least 1350kg, ideally over 1400kg. If your vehicle has a towing capacity of 1350kg (for example, my automatic Nissan X-Trail), some frugality regarding what you carry ON/IN THE VAN will get you there (e.g. keeping some of YOUR possessions in your vehicle and carrying the outdoor furniture and portable en-suite that I provide, in your vehicle, for the duration of the hire). Also please check: 1. your vehicle tow bar is heavy duty (and rated for the tow ball weight of 130kg) and 2. this 130kg, plus the weight of you and the what you CARRY IN YOUR VEHICLE, keeps you within your vehicle’s rated Gross Vehicle Mass (GMV)…

Additional information
The elegance starts with matching crockery, cutlery, appliances, bedding and towels. To top it off, flute, wine and beer glasses, together with white table cloths for use inside and out, and of course a floral table decoration… The comfort starts with the double bed (where you will spend most of your van time, asleep!) A moderately firm mattress if that’s what you like, with an optional overlay if you prefer it softer. Plus six pillows. Then there’s the diesel heater for warmth inside and beach towels and quality folding chairs for outside. The convenience starts with picking up the van adjacent to the Devonport ‘Spirit of Tas’ terminal OR the various delivery options. Then there’s all the cooking and lifestyle utensils, appliances and picnic table and chairs. Towels and bedding too! The roll-out awning provides shade from the sun and shelter from the rain… your own veranda within minutes of stopping. To top it off, mobile WIFI (via the Telstra network, to give the widest possible coverage), an extensive pantry and pressure water to the sink and the outdoor tap, even when free camping. LPG and the initial fill of diesel for the heater is included. (The LPG will last over a month and the diesel many hours). An onboard electric brake controller is fitted, so you don’t need one in your vehicle. "Complete"... With the delivery options, I set up the van outside (with it level, roof and awning up). If you are towing, I recommend a minimum of 3 nights at each spot. That gives you 2 full days without set-up and set-down. There is plenty to do for two days within an hours drive of anywhere in Tassie. With two of you putting up the roof (1min) and unrolling the awning (5min), then one of you finishing the van set-up outside while the other cooks, you can be relaxing/dining in comfort under the awning or inside, all set up for the evening, within half an hour (a bit longer if solo)! Unfortunately, an on-board shower and toilet won’t fit inside a van of this size, but a ‘portable en-suite’ (a shower tent with chemical toilet and shower) is provided. Pets are excluded. While I love cats and dogs, they can shed hair, not all of which can be removed. How often do you find your pet’s hair in places others may not welcome? Also, you can now take your vehicle and van into Tassie’s magnificent National Parks guilt free! For self-towing, most of Tassie’s beautiful spots are accessible via bitumen road or well-made dirt roads. You are welcome to use these dirt roads. However, I’m afraid rough dirt roads and tracks are off limits. For delivery, similar road-use guidelines apply, but may be relaxed through negotiation. Minimum hire is 5 days. The rates are $70.00, $80.00 and $90.00/d for winter (Jun, Jul, Aug), shoulder (Sept, Oct, Nov, Mar, Apr, May) and summer (Dec, Jan, Feb) respectively. A one-off service fee of $75.00/hire is charged for van cleaning and set-up. Camplify charge a 10.5% booking fee and various "Accident Excess Reduction Options". So you will pay less than $880.00 per week for self tow, any time of year! Repeat customers will receive a 20% discount off the day rate (and pay less than $740.00 per week self tow, any time of year)! I have two daisy-chain package options: - Two week North-West Tasmania ex Devonport - Three week North-West Tasmania ex Devonport Ask me for details or make up your own itinerary... To get the fixed price for the dates you want, start the booking process. The booking is not finalised until we both agree and you have paid a deposit. If all this sounds too good to be true, my objectives are simple… Delighted customers and high occupancy... (BTW, your van’s carbon footprint is offset at negligible cost to me and no cost to you. We can all ‘Be Net Zero Now’...)

Jean 5.0We had a great time. So many good points for a van if its age. Bed very comfortable, elect blankets, diesel heater life saver. All other appliances available to use., plus David was easy to talk to and helpful in every way. Pick up and drop off for van was spot onto. We had a great holiday thanks to Davids little caravan. We would highly recommend David as the owner of the hire van. CheersJean
Tammy 5.0Great little set up, warm for winter trips, even at below zero. Plenty of doonas and electric blanket provided. We didn't have a vehicle but it was delivered on time and set up and ready for my stay. Picked up when organised. Owner is very thoughtful and obliging. Went above what was expected so will definitely hire again!
