Additional Information

"Just bring your bags and go!" because we include all the basics in your hire.

Our troopy is completely fitted out with fridge, kitchen (stove/sink), quality cookware and utensils , chairs, towels, linens for 2 bed setup (double bed in pop-top, single bed below - sleeps up to 3). 2 x 90L diesel tanks gives you a huge range. A 50L fresh water tank built into the vehicle. This van is completely off the grid - everything can be powered up on the 12V battery, including fridge and lights inside and out! There is a mains plug-in "15amp inlet" on the side where you may plug into 240V power at a caravan site to charge up your vehicle's fridge/lights etc and re-charge the batteries (one for the starter motor - one for appliances inside the vehicle), However, plugging into mains power is optional and is not at all necessary as the two batteries charge when the vehicle is driven during the day! . This van is completely happy on its own and in our opinion doesn't require 240V plug-in power at all! This is an off-the-grid machine and will take you anywhere - whether through the outback, along the coast or beyond!

if you'd like to hire the Troopy out for 1-2 nights specifically, please inquire with us and we'll see if we can fit you into a gap in bookings! (at our discretion) MANUAL ON HOW TO USE THE VAN we also provide you with a comprehensive set-up guide and emergency numbers to call, should you need them. we really do look after you! :)
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A "3-BERTH" CAMPER, BUT MORE COMFORTABLE AS A "2" ~whilst our camper has seat belts and sleeping capacity for 3, it is generally a whole lot more comfortable for 2 people only, or 2 adults + 1 child. Sleeping is fine for 3, however the seating is less comfortable as the 3rd [middle seat] in the vehicle, is quite a lot smaller than the main seats on either side. If you have any further questions, please send us an enquiry :) Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Hiring Rules
Please *no smoking*, no speeding. Minimum 2 night hire. Please respect me like I'm owned by you! a Please let us know if you are planning to have a 3rd Person as there is an additional charge of $20 per night. Please avoid driving me at dawn and dusk or during the night - it can be dangerous with wildlife on the road Cheers!

Great vehicle. Has everything on board for a trip in NT. Drives well, handles well, plenty of power. Chews the juice if going over 110km. Better to cruise and save $$.
Communication delays were a bit annoying but everything was good in the end. Perhaps camplify needs an app with notifications or at least give out phone numbers after the booking is confirmed.

I took Bens Troopy on a 4 day trip to Kakadu national park with my partner and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to do a similar trip around Northern Territory. Communication with Ben was clear in our initial communications and I found his place easily on pick up day (it's only around 25 minutes walk from Darwin CBD, or a short taxi ride if the heat is too much) and he gave me a comprehensive demonstration of the troopy and it's contents. In the trip itself we found it comfortable, used the gas cooker for most of our meals, and never had any issues running it down 4x4 trails within the national park. It's a good off roader, whilst still having all of bits needed for camping, and really well kitted out with emergency equipment, gas cooker, sink, fridge, pumps etc. I Would have no hesitation recommending this campervan!

Had a great time trecking down to Katherine and up through Kakadu. Troopy had everything we needed. Fridge kept everything cold along the way. Great adventure.

Ben and Sophie's troopy is great , combined with the excellent kit provided, we could camp wherever we wanted. Ben is a top bloke , was informative at pick up and prompt to respond to any questions we had even when he was on holiday!!!! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a 4x4 out of Darwin, cheaper, better service and better machine than anything through a company.
