Comes with an annual national park pass for NSW except for Kosciuszko! *Discounts are offered incrementally to longer bookings. If you would like to check out the van prior to hiring please let me know. Drop-off can be arranged for an extra charge depending on where you're located. Bernie has everything you need to make the perfect trip and runs like a dream. Bernie can transport 5 people legally and people up to 174cm in height can stand up inside - which is very useful when it's a rainy day and you're looking to cook a nice meal inside. Bernie runs completely off renewable solar panel energy and has awesome colorful LED lighting for when you're wanting a little party inside for drinking games or just for a nice colorful vibe to relax to. Bernie can sleep up to 4 people with the queen bed on the bottom (quite a few people will have 3 people sleep on the bottom) and the king single on the top, however, I only recommend using the top bed for children or small adults as it's a bit of a tight space and I don't recommend it to people who are claustrophobic. I also have a tent available for if you want to bring some extra people as the van has 5 legal seat belts. Check out my reviews to see how great he is! - PET FRIENDLY for the additional $30 fee, pets are not allowed directly on the couches inside so make sure you have a dedicated towel to put over them. 
- OFF-GRID (Solar + water + gas included, so no powered sites needed) Please note that the gas runs out once every 2 months or so, so it is unlucky who it will run out with. All you would need to do is swap the gas tank at a petrol station and I will reimburse you if you send the receipt). Also note the van always is given with an empty water tank so you will need to fill it up, but I will show you how. If you would like to inspect the van to make sure it's right for you prior to booking please let me know. There will be a 'Bernie the Van bible' provided inside which will teach you everything you need to know about Bernie. We will also be giving a personal tour of him upon pick up and will teach you everything that we know so allow for a 20-minute walk-through when picking him up. Hiring rules

  • The petrol tank must be full on return (it will be full for pick up)
  • Only 95 and 98 unleaded petrol only
  • You will be charged if you exceed the 200km per day limit. For each 1km over the limit, you will be charged $1.00. If anything breaks or is damaged you will have to pay to fix or replace them.
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Bernie the Van was absolutely wonderful! Such a beautiful little build that just has every single thing we could think of needing. All the little extra thoughtful touches made the Van life experience so easy. 100% will be renting again and Georgie also was so nice and helpful whenever we had a question

    We had a brilliant time in Bernie. Georgie was super helpful - knowing it was our first hire, she gave lots of tips and the handover made for easy driving and stress free camping. She was responsive really quickly during our trip. The van was perfect for our needs for our first van experience. Highly recommended!!

    We spent almost three weeks traveling with Bernie and had no issues at all. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the van was easy to drive. The rear camera was a big help, and Bluetooth music was a nice bonus. Georgie was very responsive and helpful a perfect host. National park pass and tolls were included, which made things even easier. Definitely recommend this van to anyone.
