I was very lucky that Nick was happy for me to pick up "Beryl" the Kombi very early on Christmas morning so I could surprise my family with a Kombi adventure. Nick had Beryl ready to go and went through everything thoroughly. The Kombi is fun to drive and is very well maintained. There was plenty of space for the four of us and the extras i.e. fridge, tables, chairs, plates etc are all very clean and ready to use.

We loved having Beryl for a couple of days and definitely recommend it for anyone wishing for some Kombi fun!

Bed was very comfy, & spend a lot of time on the camp chairs under the awning. we will definitely be doing again in the future. Nic was a great host & is all to happy to make sure your experience is as you expect & more!

This is the second time hiring Beryl. She is a beauty. We had a great long weekend at the Kombi festival and sleeping one night beside the beach. Great conversation starter. Nick was a fabulous host. Very accommodating before, during and after the hire. Highly recommend.

Beryl was such a dream! We took her to Hunter Valley, and spent a wonderful weekend cruising along the vineyards, lounging on the lawn, and cooking up nice meals to enjoy in the “living room” area. Beryl was easy to drive, and many people came up to us to ask about her! Nick was also super accommodating (we were running late picking the Kombi up) and was an excellent communicator throughout the whole stay. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great time with Beryl over the weekend. Fully equipped for camping we spent the first night at Seal Rocks and then toured the Hunter Valley Vineyards the following day. Great fun to drive and drove well without any problems. Nick was a great host and was very accommodating. I would recommend to any one looking for a great weekend escape.

Beryl was just as much fun to drive as she is to stay in. She is a real head turner she really gets everybody's attention as you drive around. Beryl handles and drives great and is heaps of fun to drive. Nicholas keeps her in perfect condition and she was very clean. He is also very helpful and was happy to answer any question I threw at him. The bed itself is very comfy and the awning is massive. All in all a perfect little van that is heaps of fun.

We enjoyed our time in Beryl very much. The "thrill" of being able to drive around in a well maintained 1974 Kombi was terrific. Owner, Nick, was helpful and courteous from the start of our initial conversations through to handing back Beryl after our hire was complete. For those wanting something different or those who love Kombis we would highly recommend Beryl.

Fantastic!!!
We hired Beryl to attend the Bruce Springsteen concert out at Hope Estate Winery in the Hunter Valley in mid February 2017.
All of the close accommodation was booked out so we thought a campervan would solve two problems - transport and bed in one!
It was all that and more!
It was a Simple collection from friendly Nick straight after touchdown at Newcastle airport. Nick went over all of Beryl's little quirks with us, and nothing was too daunting. We were amazed to discover she was an automatic and this made cruising around even more enjoyable :). All the booking details and ID had been confirmed through Camplify so there was no paperwork to complete. The fridge was cold, bedding provided, tank full of juice so off we set!
The drive out to the vineyards was beautiful! We used our google maps and took the country roads avoiding the motorways. It was so relaxing cruising along with the windows down and a great cd blaring through the full surround speakers.
Arriving at the vineyard we really turned heads. With the car park full of punters (the place was jam packed) Beryl really took the limelight. We pulled out our camp chairs and had a cold beer from the fridge in the car park before going in.
We made up the bed so it would be ready after the show and we had a few onlookers checking out the procedure and the interior. Nick has really done a great job with fitting her out! There was nothing we could have wished for!
The concert was awesome - goes without saying!
Afterwards we moved out the gates with the herd of thousands and back to Beryl. We pulled out our camp chairs again and had one last nightcap in the car park as we watched the antics of the herd departing the vineyard. It was bedlam! Lots of drunks and thousands of cars at a complete standstill!
The spectacle wore off after a while and we packed up our chairs and climbed into the back into our comfy bed. Some three hours later the final vehicles called it a night and we'd been snoozing the whole time.
We awoke in the morning to a paddock covered in kangaroos :) and a dozen or so other vehicles who stayed the night like us. We freshened up with the running water from Beryl's sink and headed over the road for a big breakfast at Pokolbin Village before cruising back to Nick's place via Raymond Terrace and a little bit of antique shopping ;)
Thankyou so much for a fantastic night in Beryl (we paid for 2 and it was well worth it!). This is definitely the way to go when doing the big gigs in the Hunter and we will be booking again for sure!!!
I want a Beryl of my own now :D
