Rare lightweight Avan Aliner that sleeps 4 (with two bunkbeds at the front, good for young and early teen children, or just storage), with the main bed converting to dining table, seating 4. It takes thirty seconds to pop the van up or down, and there is no canvas. For delivery, please calculate the distance from Mentone, Victoria (note the cost reflects two trips to and from the delivery site) It has a solar panel, which means if you can't get a powered site, no problem! It also has an instant hot water system and external shower

Special towing information

I can supply towing mirrors if required. You need to carry out a ten-point check before towing to make sure everything is is place and all the odds and ends are stowed. If you have a large powerful vehicle at times you will not even notice that you are towing a van I prefer a 7-day minimum booking over Christmas and New Years please, negotiable

Additional information

It has a solar panel for off-grid battery charging. Note that if you decide to go off-grid, we cannot guarantee that the sun will shine! Low power lights are supplied so the only issue with batteries running low might be the use of a compressor fridge (note a condenser fridge comes with the van) and/or the pump to draw water for the instant hot water system and shower. It may be wise to shower when the sun is out! It also contains all cooking gear and kettle, and a slide on awning. The fridge in the van is a gas or propane (Condenser) type which is not as efficient as a Compressor fridge, and cannot be relied upon in very hot weather (i.e. over 35 inside the van). If you require to keep beverages or food cold in very hot weather you may need to look at a compressor fridge or esky with ice. We have had feedback that the mattresses are quite firm. You may want to put your own mattress topper on if you prefer a soft mattress. Please note - You must let us know if you are travelling down a dirt road of any decent distance, as we will need to protect the fridge vents from the entry of dust. If dust gets into the workings of the fridge, it may lead to the failure of the fridge operating off gas

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

John has an excellent host and gave me a good briefing on the caravan beforehand. The caravan amenities were excellent- fridge, solar powered lights and hot water camping shower too! Interior is a bit dated but to be expected for this vintage. Excellent value for money.

Though its old it was comfortable and we survived a thunderstorm cosy and warm. There is a fan and heater, washing line, pots, crockery cutlery.just take a hose to fill up the water tank so you can pump water into the sink. The step into the van was high for the elderly user so we used an extra step. John is very helpful and delivered the van then set everything up for us- we had a very enjoyable time.
