If you have ever driven a Volkswagen Transporter, you will know how comfy they are to drive, the difference with Fern is that she is also comfy to sleep, cook and adventure in. She has all the comforts and activities you need for your road trip, cooking facilities, extra battery with plug-in solar, fully insulated with privacy curtains, the comfiest of beds + bedding, games, speakers, projector, fold out table and chairs, hand shower, beach umbrella and an adventure guide. It can fit 5 adults comfortably and has baby seat capabilities.

Fern is perfect for any trip on sealed roads. But please be aware that the longer your trip is the more km's go on the engine. So we have a guideline of around 200km per day. This can be spread over a trip and after 1000kms, We charge just .25 per km at the end of the trip. We can suggest pet friendly camping locations and can provide x2 dog sleeping bags. Contact us if you want to camp with kids, we could figure something out. We have tried to think of everything you would need, from hot water bottles, beach towels and a hair dryer, just let us know if there is anything you wish we had!

Hiring rules

  • No Smoking.
  • No Towing.
  • No offroad use.
  • No shoes inside sleeping area.
  • If driving at dusk or dawn, drive slowly and carefully... we have a lot of wildlife in Tasmania.
  • Return in the same conditions you received her:
  • Tank must be filled up (diesel).
  • Cleaned as best as possible, inside and out.
  • Maximum of 200km per day, and 1000km per trip, additional 50c charged per km
  • We have an inventory we check between each hire to ensure no items are damaged or stolen, if a mistake happens just let us know :)
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
