Meet Mathew, your Gentleman Road Warrior Mathew is named after the infamous Tasmanian bushranger Matthew Brady, one of Van Diemen’s Land’s (Tasmania’s) most colourful outlaws. Born in Manchester UK in 1799 and transported to Tasmania after a theft conviction, Brady escaped from the brutal Macquarie Harbour penal station and roamed the island for two years. Known as the “Gentleman Bushranger,” he gained a reputation for courtesy and charm, reportedly treating captives with respect and winning sympathy from the locals. Like his namesake, Mathew combines adventure with refinement. This professionally converted campervan is longer in body, offering generous living space, with an internal standing height of 1600mm (63 inches, meaning taller travelers won’t be able to stand fully upright inside). Thoughtfully designed for comfort and practicality, it’s licensed for 3 passengers and features a comfortable double bed, making it perfect for 2 adults, 3 friends or 2 adults and a child. Mathew has been fitted with Apple car play and a reversing camera to make it even easier to navigate around the state and campgrounds.
