A Little Rundown on Our Little Camper 🏕️
Okay, it’s not that little — because this setup is packed with features!
Meet The Happy Mammal — a thoughtfully designed touring camper built for off-grid adventure and easy exploration.
The new-model Ford Ranger 4WD comes fitted with an MW slide-on camper unit, giving you everything you need for the ultimate glamping experience. It’s a dream to drive — smooth, comfortable, and loaded with top safety features for you and your family. It seats five and runs on a 2L turbo diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, sipping fuel at around 11L/100km.
Inside the camper, you’ll find a double bed with a custom Makin Mattress, a four-seat club-style lounge, a flip-up dining table, four ceiling fans, LED lighting, and a double 12V socket to keep your devices charged. Just unclip the four roof latches, hit the electric lift button, and you’re ready to relax.
Outside, a 270° awning provides shade while you cook or chill out under the sky. The built-in sink and 100L fresh water tank make life on the road effortless, while outdoor lighting sets the perfect evening vibe.
We’ve stocked it with all the comforts of home — a 240V BBQ, induction cooktop, kettle, toaster, and sandwich press, all powered by 400Ah of lithium batteries, a 2000W inverter, solar, and a 40A DCDC charger. You’ll never be short on power, even off-grid.
You’ll also find a 130L Bushman 12V fridge/freezer, vacuum sealer, KickAss handheld vacuum, and jet blower to keep everything spotless. Plus, we’ve included head torches, a Bluetooth speaker, plates, cutlery, and utensils — basically everything you need.
For convenience, there’s a portable stool/toilet (bags and toilet paper included), camp chairs, tables, cooking spray, salt, pepper, foil, and wrap. A butane cooker with a glass lid is also supplied to help preserve battery life.
A portable shower tent is provided for privacy, with an optional hot water system available on request. Need extra gear like a swag, microwave,board games or fishing rods? Just ask — we’ll do our best to accommodate.
The Ranger also features a flat platform-style roof rack (1400mm x 1200mm) for boards, gear, or extra luggage. Rear access is easy through the integrated door and steps — no ladders or balancing acts required!
While storage is cozy for a family of four, smart packing makes it totally doable, with handy space under the bed for clothes and towels. Linen hire is available too!
The Happy Mammal is based on Kangaroo Island, where you can fly in or catch the ferry, pick up your fully equipped camper, and start your adventure right away. We recommend pre-booking campgrounds — there are plenty with toilets, showers, and water access.
Mainland bookings are also welcome.

Cancellations
Flexible
- Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
- Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
- Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Family time is super important to me, and with my kids keeping me constantly on my toes, its pretty clear the apple didnt fall far from the tree!
