Get ready to turn heads with Billie our 1973 automatic VW Kombi motorhome. In showroom condition and meticulously restored with a fuel injected Subaru engine and brand-new mechanical parts to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable drive every time. Billie safely seats 3 people in the front cab bench seat (if the 3rd person is a child, simply bring your own car seat) The 2-berth motorhome comes fitted with a plush double bed with luxury linen for a restful night's sleep. Billie has a reverse cycle air condtioner to keep you comfortable when connected to mains power. He has an upgraded 300Ah lithium battery and inverter with a rooftop solar panel. Inside the van you will find conveniently placed USB ports, power points and sirocco fans. Billie is beautifully decorated with a fully equipped kitchenette featuring a fridge/freezer, microwave, SMEG kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Billie has a stocked pantry and when hiring you can let us know if you have any other requirements. Billie has a TV and some games for your enjoyment. While inside Billie, enjoy the breathtaking views through the large-scale windows fitted with blackout privacy blinds to ensure your privacy. Step outside and set up your external awning, sit down on the camp chairs at your table (provided) with a hot or cold beverage and enjoy your surroundings. Billie also comes with a portable double BBQ gas stove and camp lantern. Billie's blend of vintage charm, comfort and reliability makes her the perfect companion to step back in time, hit the road and make unforgettable memories.

Additional information

Billie is your luxe home on wheels and is fully equipped with so many additional essentials. Normally 3 days minimum hire applies including long weekends. 2-day hire can be negotiated if bookings either side permit. For bookings greater than 7 days contact us directly for a discounted rate. Pickup and drop off location are in Millicent (404 kms) from Adelaide Airport (476 kms) from Melbourne Airport and (50 kms) from Mount Gambier Airport. Storage for your vehicle while hiring Billie can be arranged in a secure lockup facility.

Hiring rules

  • Please return motorhome in the same clean and tidy condition as pick up. (No need to make the bed as linen will we washed on return)
  • No offroad driving on beach, unsealed roads or water crossings. Sealed roads only.
  • Please ensure access to campsites are suitable for 2wd as your insurance will not cover
  • you for any damaged caused if driven on unsealed roads and insurance will be void.
  • Sorry No Pets.
  • No Smoking/Vaping in Van
  • Hirer must be 25 years and older. All drivers must be listed when hiring.
  • All drivers must have a full driver's license. Make booking under the details of the main driver to match license
  • We will need to visibly check the drivers' licenses on pickup so please have your physical drivers license with you.
  • AM pickup and PM drop off times can be arranged with hirer.
  • To prevent damage to awning, this must be packed away before bad weather arises.
  • DAMAGE: if damage occurs, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when.
  • Please send through pictures of evidence.
  • EMERGENCY: if any engine lights come on the dashboard, pullover immediately. If an
  • accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe and call Camplify on 1300 416 133, they will
  • advise you on what to do next. Then please call your host.
  • LONG TRIPS: 200 kilometers a day is included in the booking price. You will be charged
  • 30 cents per kilometer for any additional distance travelled over the total allowance.
  • This is calculated within Camlifys pre/post hire checklist. If you are travelling further,
  • please advise us and we can discuss and negotiate extra costs.
  • Fuel tank must be returned with a full tank of 95 unleaded petrol (No E10).
  • All dishes, appliances and utensils must be cleaned and placed back in the original
  • spot and all rubbish removed.
  • Portable gas stove must be returned clean and in the same condition as pickup.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

I have always dreamt of owning my own Kombi van and I have a few little collectibles. In June 2025 my dream finally came true of owning a RV Kombi named Billie and not only do I want to use her myself, I want to share the dream with other Travelers.
