Myrtle is a 2004 Mercedes Benz Sprinter with a Winnebago Leisure Seeker fit-out. Although mature in years, she has travelled little (at Feb 25, approx. 53,000 kms), is young in heart and ability and has recently undergone an interior “facelift”. Myrtle is ideally suited to sleeping two or three guests. One or two in the permanent rear double bed and one in the overhead cab area, a king single. The dinette which can seat four, also makes up to a very comfortable and good size single bed, so she can sleep four if needed. In addition to the driver and front passenger, there are compliant seat belts for a further three people in the dinette area. Two lap/sash belts, and one lap only. You will be able to cook up a storm in Myrtle's kitchen, which has a three-burner gas hob, full oven and a good size 120 litre fridge. All crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans and other cooking essentials are included, along with basic pantry items. She has a full bathroom with a fixed vanity, cassette toilet and separate shower, the base of which forms a small bath. Myrtle is willing and able to accommodate you off-grid for two or three days at a time, assuming you are mindful and strategic in your power, water and toilet usage. The fridge, hob/oven and water heater run on gas and the house heater on diesel. She has two 112 litre freshwater tanks, two 12v sirocco fans and a recently installed 600 watt solar system with a 200ah lithium battery. When plugged into mains power you will also have access to airconditioning and a microwave. You can use these sparingly when off-grid. For those rainy days or when you just want to chill, there is a 24" smart tv to which you can stream to your hearts content! Externally, Myrtle is equipped with an ouside shower for rinsing off the sand and dust from your outdoor adventures. And for relaxing or dining alfresco under her brand new extendable awning, there is a large floor mat, dining and snack tables, comfortable chairs and a Weber BabyQ bbq with cart and separate gas bottle. Additional information

Due to her size and configuration, Myrtle can be buffeted by the wind. She won't win any burn-offs at the lights (and nor should you try) and whilst she could happily tootle along at 100-110kmh in the right weather and road conditions, for your comfort and to ensure better fuel economy a maximum speed of 90kmh is highly recommended. It's as much about the journey as the destination and you are on holiday after-all!

Hiring rules

  • No smoking in the van.
  • 150 kilometre daily driving limit 75c per kilometre over this.
  • Toilet cassette and grey water tank to be emptied before return unless additional extra selected..
  • To be returned clean internally and externally unless additional extra selected. If not, a $200.00 cleaning fee will be applied.
  • Delivery may be negotiated.
  • Please note that the general service fee charge is to cover such things as refills of gas bottles, diesel heater fuel refills and restocking of general consumables.
  • Hirer must be 30 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    We hired Myrtle for our camping trip and had an overall fantastic experience. The booking process was straight forward with clear communication prior and post our trip thanks to Jo. The van itself was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for ourselves and our kids. The layout was practical, comfortable and in very good condition. We would be happy to hire again and recommend to others who are looking for a hassle-free camper rental.

    The van was old but well maintained and easy to drive. Regrettably, the rental experience was severely impacted by the owner's conduct. Communication was consistently challenging with multiple instances of abrupt and discourteous responses. The owner was manipulative, unreasonable and often rude. On the last day of our trip the owner suddenly refused to meet at a pre-agreed location, which was confirmed in writing prior to hire. It took hours of back-and-forth messages during our holiday to finally get it resolved, which only happened once Camplify stepped in - thanks to their support team. While the van was okay, I would not recommend renting from this owner. The overall experience was stressful and unprofessional.
