My partner & I hired The Ambulance and unfortunately could not take the van as it did not meet roadworthy standards and the owner Emily, could not provide up to date services. Camplify has not refunded our booking, despite providing video evidence of the safety light warnings. Furthermore, the van is still listed on Camplify. I am very concerned for the safety of other people who hire a van through Camplify, all things considered. Heres our story: On the first day of our hire, I checked the van and took videos as recommended to hirers via the Camplify website. Upon this check, I noticed multiple safety light warnings including; 1. SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) Warning Light:The SRS warning light is illuminated, indicating a fault in the airbag or seatbelt system. This compromises the vehicle's ability to protect occupants in the event of a collision. 2. Brake Wear Warning Light:The brake wear warning light is active, signaling a potential issue with the braking system. This poses a significant risk to the safety and stopping power of the vehicle. 3. License Plate Lamp Issues:Both the left and right license plate lamps are inoperative, affecting the visibility of the vehicle's registration plate, particularly in low-light conditions. 4. Tyre Pressure Warning:The vehicle's tyre pressure monitoring system indicates insufficient tyre pressure, which can lead to poor handling and increased risk of tyre failure. Concerned about this, I video called my mechanic and detailed the state of the vehicle. He informed me to not take the vehicle under any circumstances, as it was not safe to drive nor was it roadworthy. We raised our concerns with Emily, however she told us not to worry about it. We asked Emily for the log book, and it only had one single service at the 22km. The van had done over 300,000km since this initial service. Emily told me the vehicle had been serviced and its fine but she could not provide any proof of this while I was there. It is rare for us to get time off work, and unfortunately, we missed out on our holiday, as this van was unsafe to drive. We contacted Camplify immediately, providing video evidence of the faults, however they rejected our request for a refund. It is very concerning knowing Camplify are allowing unroadworthy vehicles on their platform for people to hire. Furthermore, it is concerning for people who spend their hard-earned money with this platform, not to get a refund in this circumstance.

First and foremost, another Camplify booking I had encountered a last minute cancellation due to unfit vehicle- so Emily really came through for me to be able to travel Queensland. I am SO Grateful she accommodated me last minute. Since she was in the middle of moving into a new place, the van wasnt fully outfitted and stripped down, so I cant speak to the accuracy of the pics. However, Emily threw in a camp table and the van was incredibly reliable with mattress and bedding that was very comfortable. I loved that it has cruise control and a backup camera. The diesel engine saved me tons in petrol, too. I also loved the roll pillows so you can hang out comfortably in the back and read. My only recommendation is to install some type of netting for one of the door openings as it can be quite hot inside during sleeping times. The mesh would help with fresh air flow & keep out the mozzies. Emily loves feathers, so I picked up some up during my visit to Cooberrie Nature Reserve and added them to her collection. Overall, it was a great vehicle and it enabled me to see so much of Queensland. Thanks Emily!
