The van is a 2013 long wheel base Toyota Hiace with a high top. It’s an ex-rental van but considerably cheaper to rent from me given full comprehensive insurance and 24 hour roadside assist are included in the base price. The van is named after a beautiful white husky that we met at the beach, but the name also has echoes the Kakoda trail and is a musical reference. We have taken Koda on our own campervan adventure and it is ready to roll, can go most places and is mechanically in great shape. Being an ex-rental it’s fully kitted out with a two burner gas stove, Waeco fridge/freezer that chills beer and wine in a flash and a sink with an extendable hose that you can use to shower outside the van. We can include solar for freedom camping and there is a pure sine inverter to charge computers and phones etc. It even powers my guitar amp so musicians can use it to tour. The audio system will automatically pick up your phone when you connect with the cable so you can play your favourite road music and charge your phone at the same time. There’s a rack for a guitar in a solid case and another for a 2.5m surfboard, both inside the roof of the van. There are fly screens on three windows and a top quality fan to keep you comfortable at night. It also has brand new foam mattresses, upholstery and curtains.
