Using Facebook "Marketplace" to Get More Hire Enquiries for your RV
Do you use the Facebook app on your mobile phone? If so, you may have noticed a new button showing at the bottom of your screen, which looks like this:
The icon represents Facebook's new feature "Marketplace", which is kind of like the social network’s version of a Gumtree local classifieds section. Within the Facebook marketplace, people can buy and sell anything from clothes to cars.
In this instalment of the Camplify Owner Support Program, we'll show you how to promote your RV listing on Facebook Marketplace to get more hires from people in your local area.
Posting your Camplify RV listing on Facebook Marketplace takes about 2 minutes and is well worthwhile. Best of all, it is completely FREE to do!
Why is this important to you as an RV owner?

In Australia, Facebook has over 15 million users. Surely at least a few of these people are going to be interested in hiring your RV, right? We think so.
So, we have created an easy step-by-step guide to help you list your RV for hire on Facebook Marketplace.
Listing Your RV on Facebook Marketplace
Open up the Facebook app on your mobile phone and check that you have the Facebook Marketplace icon at the bottom of your screen. (If you can’t see it, this probably means you may have to update your Facebook app to the latest version.)
Tap the marketplace icon
Tap the “Sell” icon and upload a photo of your RV. If you don’t have a photo of your RV on your phone, simply visit your listing on Camplify and save one of your photos to your phone.
Write a descriptive title for your listing, making sure to specify that your RV is for hire not for sale. It is also a good idea to include the number of berths and the region where your RV is located.
Write a description for your listing. You might want to visit your listing on the Camplify website and select / copy / paste that same description to save you having to come up with a new description. Note:We recommend reminding potential customers in the description that your bookings are handled through www.camplify.com.au.
Set the nightly hire price for your listing, as per your Camplify listing normal rate price.
Finish your listing by setting the location of your RV and selecting the “Cars, vans & motorcycles” category. You’ll want to tap “Share with Friends”. Also, if you are a member of any relevant Facebook groups, you may also like to share your post in these too.
Tip: Some of the buy / swap / sell camping groups are great to post in for more hires!
Hit “Post”, and you’re done!
Handling enquiries from Facebook Marketplace: Now, the waiting game. Hopefully, you’ll start to receive enquiries directly to your Facebook profile from people wanting to hire your RV. To ensure your booking is handled with the appropriate security, insurance and roadside assistance we suggest directing hirers to your listing on Camplify. On your mobile phone, you can find your listing on Camplify by going to the Camplify search page and searching your location. Once you open up your listing on your phone, you should be able to find an option to “Copy” your listing web address. Look for an icon like this on your phone’s internet browser:
Once your listing link is “copied”, you can now “paste” it into the Facebook Marketplace listing.
